View Full Version : DJs buffering

Haven't made feedback for a while but this has been bugging me for a few days so yeah.
Basically, recently a LOT of DJs have been buffering and it makes me want to scream. The songs stop and start, stop and start, you can't tell what they're saying and it's really off-putting.
There are a few exceptions but most of the DJs - especially trialists - I've listened to have buffered really badly. :/
I don't know how you could fix this - maybe tell them to try a lower bitrate, or for the trialists - do a trial on a private radio to A) Check their songs B) Check their mic and C) Check they don't buffer?
But it's really annoying so yeah. :/

Personally I listen quite a lot to the radio and really don't have any problems with it buffering. However if someone is noticed to be buffering we will contact them and ask them to lower their bitrate a bit. I will keep my eye out for it as well as the other Head DJs and senior DJs!

Cool. But also, I think the Head DJs & Senior DJs should be checking themselves as well...because I know of one that was buffering very badly earlier.

I haven't had any issues in the past week listening to HxL, it may very well be your internet connection as it is 90% of the time with buffering.

Knew someone would say this. It's definitely not lol. It only happens when certain DJs are on - and I've also checked it wasn't my internet by going onto other radios when it starts - it's definitely the radio.

Buffering tends to be very individual, for instance if it buffers & you refresh - it will start working again (this would count for if you went to another radio too, so that's not a valid way of telling whether it's your internet).
We will have to see whether others post in this thread, however from my experience (and I've been listening to HabboxLive a lot this week) I've had no buffering, therefore it must be to do with your internet connection, however whether this is because DJs are streaming at a rate too high for certain connections or whether it's your individual connection we cannot be sure until we get more feedback.

I get occasional buffering but nothing THAT bad - I find that refreshing the page gets rid of it pretty quickly. Some DJs do have it more than others, but I still don't think it's a HUGE problem to be honest.

The only buffering I am annoyed with is when there's a few words of the song then it stops, then I either choose to refresh or just wait but it continues and it's annoying. In one occasion I tuned out, I don't mind it though as I don't listen to HxL a lot!

I don't tune in as much really only to certain djs but whenever i do tune in i hear the occassional buffer here and there but nothing major tbh.
The only time i've heard the radio buffering is when there is a bad changeover... f5 a couple of times problem solved.
If you lower the bitrate it would be even more ****, no other fansite allows qualities below 96 kb/s. Quite frankly those who can't handle it need a new computer, because even my most rubbish one can. As for the issue at hand, I can't comment as I don't really tune in anymore.

It's not their computer that needs upgrading it's the package with their isp. I know it sounds harsh but if you can't handle it you shouldn't be allowed the job.

I'd suggest those using laptops connect directly to their router rather than using wireless, that way it will be somewhat reliable.
Just because somebody is buffering on a HABBO RADIO (just for those that thought it ws radio 1) does not warrant them to go and buy new internet/computers. As long as theyre told to lower the bitrate if its buffering for everyone, not just an individual then thats more than fair.

When you put it like that it sounds like I'm being a little OTT but in fairness if someone can bearly handle 64kbs they wouldn't be able to load more than one page, which is a huge flaw. They need the panel for requests and habbo to interact with the community, if they can't offer that, they should be a radio dj. It should be a criteria just like a microphone.

I've not had any issues with buffering if I'm honest...
