Since spotify free user has closed down, from what I think anyway, does anyone know a programme like Spotify? As in a free thing to listen to music on, if so then link me please. Thanks.

They announced the change a couple of weeks ago, it sucks. :(

Anyway, I'll have to try out this grooveshark think or it's back to other methods.

as soon as spotify was announced as a 'listen to however much music you want for free' program, i knew it wouldn't last long like that

was pretty handy - but even though it's only 5 quid a month, i'd still rather download the songs/albums

Yeah its a shame but Spotify was under too much pressure from labels. A lot of people claim they have sold out but you gotta look at it from their view.
They probably have a yearly or something contract with the labels and if they say no they could just not renew their contract, and what good would spotify be without its money.
Most stuff's on youtube and stuff anyways

But at the same time its promotion. If they put adverts in and stuff, people will listen and those who like it will go out and buy it. Some will obviously just go and download it but that would happen with or without Spotify
I think the main reason Spotify had to revoke free is because of Apple's change in policy which meant 30% of their profits from selling in-app went to Apple, which many companies have cited as a reason they've closed doors. I'm not too arsed because I pay for premium and I wouldn't go back to anything else, premium is *awesome* and so worth it.
Alas people are cheapskates lol.
