Beauty Contest - Why did you vote for them?

Why did you vote for the people you voted for? This isn't a thread against anyone who is in the competition whatsoever, I just like hearing views on why. [You don't have to name them!]

I chose most of them as they deserve it to me, my 'beautiful' is different than others, I'll be the first to admit that, beauty is different to everyone therefore they were chosen.
Also, one voted for me, so I voted for them, they probably know who they are right about now but I do think they are pretty too.
Also, I voted for some because they are good friends, however, again I do feel they are pretty and worthy of a vote.
Then someone asked me to, they helped me fill the '3rd' spot in one gender category. And the others were decided by looking through the thread.

However, I do feel that everyone in the contest is fairly good looking and in my eyes not everyone voted because of popularity.

I believe in some respects it is a popularity contest. I know all my male votes were pretty insincere in the whole 'beauty' aspect, but I did vote for the girls I thought were pretty. It's natural to be subconsciously influenced by all aspects of someone even if you're only analysing one part of them.

Everyone is capable at repping and at winning. Because a few people, including myself, thank people for voting for them with rep does not mean that we suddenly have an absolute and never ending guarantee that we're going to win or people are going to vote for us. If people are honestly that easily lead then they're very weak minded or greedy. I've not stated that I absolutely will rep someone for voting for me, and I haven't asked anyone to vote for me. If Scott comes and says that people shouldn't rep people for voting for them, then I'm absolutely fine for someone to remove the fairly small amount of rep I've given out.

It's simply asking for support in a competition.

Not targeting Rozi or anything, just the first post I came across when looking for an example. Maybe Paige did ask for a vote? Most people in the competition are doing the exact same thing. It's ridic' to target people looking for support in a competition >.<

If you want my opinion, peoples voted in a typical case would go for favoritism/friends in the same gender, and attractiveness in the opposite gender. This would depend on the persons sexuality though, but you catch my drift.

I voted for friends, as I do not like to judge people on what they look like, especially on the internet which I feel is a place where people can escape being judged by there looks and be judged for who they are, there personality.
