How does the Eurovision Process work this year? I'm pretty sure all the countries use to pick their entry and then all would perform on the night. Is that that the case this year?

The main 5 countries - UK, Italy, Spain, Germany and France (probably because of the big media budgets) get automatic placing into the final (taking place tomorrow evening).

All the other countries pick their acts to compete in the semi-finals, which happened on Tuesday and Thursday, and every country voted for who they wanted to come through. There was a random draw to determine who was competing in each semi-final running -Participating nations were split into six pots (which were based on previous year votes). The big 5 countries were only allowed to vote in one semi-final - this was also done through a draw on the same night (Monday)

From the two semis and the auto-countries, a total of twenty-five countries will compete in the final. The voting system changed last year, using a combination of votes from the viewers and jury votes from professional music critics. It's the same as previous years - based on the votes of the TV viewers euro-wise, each country then give 12 points to the most popular entry, 10 points to the second most popular, then 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1 points blah blah blah.

The jury system works similarly - in each country they vote as well. Just like the normal viewers, each jury in each country then gives 12 points to the most popular entry, 10 points to the second most popular, then 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1 points blah.

The televoting results and the jury results are then merged per country. Each result counts for 50% of the final vote of each county.

Then... the country with the highest number of points overall wins!

Hope this makes sense!

Red/Bolded is the finalist list!

I do have a reason for writing this list... I swear I'm not just totally sad!

TBH I think Norway should have won because their song totally sounded like it could be saying "Habba Habba" and that made me LAUGH.
