View Full Version : Competitions
I just wanted to say I think the competitions department is doing amazingly, especially at this time of the year, and has improved drastically compared to last year . Keep up the good work competitions staff!

Sorry if we're using what's been donated to us to attract members!
I do think that this month has been a good one, probably because of the monopoly but I do hope that some comp-a-holics from now might stay to win the normal prizes as well as the possibility of a throne etc etc :)

Thank you. I'm sure the comps staff will appreciate it! :D
lol matt, to "turn any department around", that would imply it was bad to start with ;)

lol Mike I was just about to say, Comps still is probably the most successful department in my eyes because it was simply a shambles before you started. It's common knowledge that a throne will boost any site or department though, J25T. I think you and Laura took it the wrong way.. :P
I have to agree, it has been doing very well! Just to say I haven't been attracted to the monopoly game at all :L. I don't see Laura do much 'front-end' work though, or is that just me?

Depending on what you're talking about. I'm brand new to the management stuff, usually I'd be more involved in the monopoly, but because I wasn't involved in the planning and stuff, I've pretty much left that to Mike to sort ('cos it'd take too long to explain to me how to do it LOL). Behind the scenes, as such, a lot goes on though!!

What is 'front-end' work supposed to mean? Laura works her socks off. If she didn't general management would have no hesitation in firing her. :)

I don't think there is much "front-end" work to competitions really apart from posting them & announcing new competitions (which Laura does more than you :P) but yes from a management perspective Laura definitely doesn't do nothing (that's a double negative but makes sense :S)

It's quite unfair to say that when you don't actually know what she does behind the scenes :P There's more to being a dept manager than just doing the "front-end" work

every time i see this thread i think it's about alex LOL. anywayyyy moving on
Yeah, I mean, comps-wise there ISNT a lot of front end stuff for comps... has mike been doing anything this month even? Like the only things I can think of is like trialists, apps etc etc etc which we have no need for, and announcements which I do :)

I agree; comps are fabulous atm. The monopoly is a huge success already and it hasn't even ended.
Well done comps. department.
want to hear a joke? Habbox comps.
On a more serious note, it's probably one of the best run departments second only to news ofc :). It's improved a lot, integrated into the community much more effectively as has a much better and appealing format, don't think there needs anything changing at all. They also did some fantastic campaigns within the past year such as that horse/ jockey race thing etc. so kudos to them :).

I don't remember this, but I think the World Cup thing they did last year has been one of the best things held on Habbox. :)

LOL wut how does Grig know about HGN, I swear he resigned before it was even thought of? :P
I agree with the fact that comps are really on a sky high at the moment but Mike and Laura both know that I have full faith in the dept. to see it achieve even greater things :D
I think I was still comps staff when this was being planned, then went on leave I think so I assumed this went through. Shame it got rejected, it had potential to work out well if planned thoroughly :P!

I agree that comps are really doing well, especially with the monopoly etc. I suppose it's a tad unfair saying that Laura doesn't do any "front-end" work as from what I see she does a lot of things and works her ass off.
