Good, bad, cheap labour, informative?
Im sure everyone has a different view on them. Are you an apprentice?

I'm not an apprentice but my brother is applying to become one (painting and decorating). I think it's generally a good idea if there's a job at the end of it but that's not always guaranteed. With lots of employers shouting out about 'experience', I do think more work experience is required in schools and apprenticeships are a way of doing that.
I started a Level 2 Business Admin apprentice at one of my local councils and its worth it at the moment for me as quite a lot of other places were giving jobs to other people or not being many jobs out there.
The good thing is that it gives good experience & you get out and about doing work.
The bad point is that the money can be rubbish which in my case it is.
Overall though, I think they are worth it as they can lead you into a proper full time job on proper money and its good experience.

I think they should up the wages since they expect us to do the same kinda jobs as the fully employed people.
I know they are training us up, but still, in this day & age, £100 a week doesnt cut it for me.

Having said that it is better than the unemployment benefit. I am in favour of Apprenticeships as long they do lead to some long term employment.
I'm not an aprenticeship yet but I live in Humberside/ East Yorkshire too :D
