As you may have seen in the other thread, my home team AFC Telford United made it back into the Conference/Blue Square Premier only 7 years after liquidation of Telford United FC.

All I can say is, what a match. I felt every emotion.

Match finished AFC Telford 3-2 Guiseley. Outstanding, the attendance was 5436 - which is a hell of a lot at our level(we average 1900-2000 at home, and obviously being the final the 'glory' hunters turn out... 362 fans come from Guiseley). The gates were closed before kick off, with hundreds of people turned away - **** health and safety!

The match started slow, but a 9minute penalty for a push in the back allowed Telford to take the lead, Sean Newton blasting into the keepers bottom left hand corner. The penalty appeal looked a little harsh, but sometimes these are given. Numerous shots from both teams, before the match fizzled out right on the stroke of half time - then Guiseley got a penalty for hand ball(player was sliding in to bloke and the ball dragged against his arm :( ) 1-1, on 44 minutes.

Teams come out from the half time interval, with both teams looking for an early goal - unfortunately it was Guiseley on the 46th minute. The atmosphere had died - it was hard to keep it going, but we tried. Few shots here and there, and Guiseley looked more promising to get a 3rd and kill off the game - before a freekick was sent over in the 79th minute, for our defender Liam Murray(who has now moved out to AussieLand to live) to head it in. 2-2. Game on.

The atmosphere was alive and kicking, all 4 sections of the ground chanting around - with the game destined for Extra Time. The 4th official indicated there would be 4 added minutes injury time - then it came. A cross over for Phil Trainer to knock in and it was 3-2 in the 93rd minute, and the roar was electric. The roar could be heard from 1.6 miles away.

The goal went in to make it 3-2, and I felt tears streaming down my face. The final whistle went, 3000+ people charged onto the pitch and I stood there in the stand looking around me, still crying. I'd watched my club die in 2004 - and 7 years 48 days later, I was watching the phoenix rise from the ashes and return to the top flight of non-league football.

Hopefully this hasn't bored you, so I'll link you to a few videos/pictures :)

Fan and Chairman Lee Carter, who stepped forward to set up the new club after liquidation in 2004 - who promised us Conference football.

Also, has anyone noticed how much the Playoff Final Trophy looks like the FA cup!?

EDIT: Phil Trainer who scored the winner in injury time, also scored the equaliser in injury time away at Nuneaton Town in the Playoff Semi Final First Leg. - not bad for a midfielder. :D
