I'm a bit confused about repping. Two questions:

1) At what member rank can you begin to rep people?
2)When you get to that rank, how do you do it?

Thanks

What are reputation points?
Reputation Points

Reputation points are the forum’s system of showing people how much the users of the forum appreciate you/your posts. These points come in two forms – negative and positive. All reputation points are anonymous.

Types of Points:

Negative Points are obtained when someone disapproves of one of your particular posts and chooses to award you a negative reputation point. When a point like this is awarded, it negates a number of points from your overall reputation. Negative reputation points appear as red rectangles.

Positive points are obtained when someone approves of one of your particular posts and chooses to award you with a positive reputation point. When a point like this is awarded, it adds a number of points to your overall reputation. Positive reputation points appear as green rectangles.

Awarding Reputation Points

To add to a particular user’s reputation, click the scales above the user’s post. These scales are located next to the ‘Report a Bad Post’ icon located at the top right hand corner of someone’s post. Once you have clicked the scales, a pop up window will open. It will have two options to choose from: Disapprove and Approve. Select one of them by clicking on the desired option. You will also have to insert a comment as to why you approve/disapprove of that user’s post.

Viewing your Reputation Total

To view your current reputation points, click the ‘User CP’ link on the Forum toolbar, located at the top of the Forum. In here, you will be able to view reputation points awarded to you. The first column will indicate whether you have obtained a negative or positive reputation point(s) Positive ones appear as a green rectangle, while negative ones appear as red rectangles. The second column indicated which post the reputation point was awarded in. Clicking it will take you to the post in which the point was awarded. The third column shows the date and time when the point(s) were issued. The fourth column shows the comment the user has attached to the reputation point.

Please note: VIP’s have the ability to view who awarded them reputation points. If you are VIP you are able to see who awarded you points in the column between the date and time and the comment.

Reputation Power

The higher rank you are on the forum, or the hgher amount of reputation points you have, the more reputation power you have. Normal users may only add/subtract 1 point to a user’s total, but an administrator may add or subtract 10 or more points. Depending on your rank on the forum, your reputation power will increase/decrease.

Advancing/Moving Backwards in Reputation

As you gain more and more reputation points, the more green rectangles you will obtain. You start off with one green rectangle when you sign up to the forum, as you advance and reach 100 points, you will have 2 green rectangles. At 200 points you will gain 3 green rectangles and so on.

If your reputation drops below 0 points, your rectangle will turn grey and dull. This indicates that you have a bad reputation on the forum.

If you see a user with a black rectangle, it means their reputation system is disabled. Usually only Administrators and VIP’s have the ability to enable/disable their reputation system.

Viewing other member’s Reputation Status

To view a user’s reputation status, find one of their posts on the forum and hold your mouse over the green rectangle below the user’s post count. A little tag will appear below your mouse displaying that user’s reputation status. The ranks of Reputation are as follows:

-100 is infamous around these parts
-50 can only hope to improve
-10 has a little shameless behaviour in the past
0 is an unknown quantity at this point
10 is on a distinguished road
50 has a spectacular aura about
75 is a jewel in the rough
100 is just really nice
125 is a glorious beacon of light
150 is a name known to all
200 has much to be proud of
175 is a splendid one to behold
250 has a brilliant future
300 has a reputation beyond repute
350 has much dedication towards Habbox
