Depends what kind you like. I'd recommend:

Halloween (The Original)
The dead series (Definitely the first 3 - night of the living dead, dawn of the dead, day of the dead - the originals again)
Dario Argento's early work which I've recently started getting into - definitely Suspiria and Deep Red
The Silence of the Lambs

I could name a lot more. Depends what kind of horror you like.

The Roommate is terrible.

Only see the original Ju-On (The Grudge), not the near unwatchable remake.

Dead Silence
it's a horror about weird dolls and actually has a good story to it.

saw is not scary just disturbing.
The Uninvited is quite good but it's not that scary
also Orphan is good but again not that scary
