View Full Version : [WIRED] How to make slot machine?

What Wired furni do you use and how, to make those slot machines (the ones with 4 color tiles changing colors)? Basically, the color tiles continuously alternate colors until you flick the switch where it stops and you have to try and get as many colors the same as possible.

How do you do this? I have tried this with repeating the toggle furni state etc but the tiles all toggle at the same speed so if they start off 4 different colors, they end with 4 different colors. If you get me :S I need to do this with 8 things as well, I have tried delaying effects but I wanna know if there is another option?

Help please :D

Going back to explaining how it doesn't work when I just delayed each effect (which was assigned, 1 to each tile). Even if the rate of changing colors differed for each tile, they still ended up in the same pattern if you get me. For example, if it started blue, red, blue, yellow , when you flick the switch (condition: furni state matches position to stop the repeat trigger), the pattern would turn to green, pink, green, orange :S

Help :S

I thinkkkkkk somewhere in there youd need a random effect thing, that way the colours will randomly change, so shove a random effect thing on top of the toggle state and see what happens

I was looking for a "random effect" a couple of weeks ago for a game but couldn't find one.... does it exist? :P

Yes, it's under the add-ons category.

Thanks for this Myke :D It sounds good but I'm not sure if that would work because that means that the colors would change 1 at a time, when according to other arcades, they should change at the same time :S

I'm gonna test this out later for you see if i can find out how :}

why dont you have 4 sets of wired all wired up to each tile and then do it that way??

Hey there,

I'm no wired expert but I think you'll need to change the speeds of one so it is different to the others... if you get what I mean? So for example if one of the tiles is at a speed of 1 second? Change the other one to.. 2 seconds? This should work...

Hope I helped,
-Emily.

Lol, I mentioned how I already tried delaying the effects :D Ty anyway x

4 piles of four boxes

Pile 1:
Box 1 - Wired to 1 tile
Box 2 - Wired to 2 tile
Box 3 - Wired to 3 tile
Box 4 - Wired to 4 tile

Pile 2:
Box 1 - Wired to 1 tile
Box 2 - Wired to 2 tile
Box 3 - Wired to 3 tile
Box 4 - Wired to 4 tile

Pile 3:
Box 1 - Wired to 1 tile
Box 2 - Wired to 2 tile
Box 3 - Wired to 3 tile
Box 4 - Wired to 4 tile

Pile 4:
Box 1 - Wired to 1 tile
Box 2 - Wired to 2 tile
Box 3 - Wired to 3 tile
Box 4 - Wired to 4 tile

all of the piles will have a random effect on top :p

Thanks Myke, I'll try that :D Could you give me a solution for "8" tiles? Preferably a cheaper one, but if not, the method you just posted cos I am too confused to work it out! :D

In posted these over an hour ago but Internet was playing up!:

Try four separate stacks of wired, one for each tile. In each stack, have a repeat effect & random effect. Also have a condition that the switch is at a certain point (for each stack).
Then in each stack, you'll need a box to change it to each different colour.

That might be s bit expensive though because you need quite a lot of boxes, but I can't think of any other way to do it!

Myke gave a way but yours sounds better - just incredibly expensive. I need to do this for 8 ducks (maybe less if I have to) and there are 4 different color states. So you would need 8c x 8 x 4 which is 256c just for 1 game.

Have you got another cheaper method?

I can't think of one at the moment but I'll have a think later :P.

If anyone has a method, read the posts before this and I might be tempted to give a little something to the person who gives the winning method LOL :D But I would prefer a cheaper price, although Luke's plan is good but just expensive :(

Add Cannonman. or search his rooms. if anyone can make wired work, its him. he says to people that if they have a wired idea he will make it with his furni cos hes so rich and loves the challenge, haha. if your lucky he might come down to your room and do it for you!
