ok so my hair was in terrible condition.. cus of dying it to much, so i went to the hairdressers and got it cut to my shoulders and recoloured. Now its really soft & thin and i cant do anything with it :( if i clip it up it falls down and if i backcomb it it just goes flat after half an hour :( any tips? xxxx

when you cut your hair that short it should actually appear thicker so i don't really understand
i hate when i go get my hair done anyway i always wash it again that night and style it my way
they just do some gay **** that makes it difficult to style properly
can you post a pic or something?

May I question why you had it re-coloured, despite the fact you say it became really bad due to colouring? :P

if you dye it darker it puts more molecules in it which makes it /LOOK/ healthier, not too sure if it makes it feel better. lighening it is more damaging than colouring so idk if she dyed it from light.. or maybe she just wanted to dye it closer to her natural colour to make growing it out easier?
umm anyway dunno can you not just leave it to dry naturally? my hair tends to have more volume when i do and behaves better. or it could possibly be the shampoo/conditoner you're using.. don't see why it would be more softer or thinner just by cutting it

I would use heat defense for drying your hair etc as otherwise your hair gets thinner again. Uhrm if you did want to straighten your hair for example if you do it with a hair dryer, you will probably get more volume. Otherwise I'd just say use hairspray :P

because i tried to go blonde and then i put a box die brown in it and it was ginger, had terrible ends and it was just horrible looking! so the hairdresser thoughtit would be best if i got it redied and cut.. so im back to my natural colour

I don't think you can do anything about it being soft and thin because I guess that's your natural texture, but you could buy some volumising moose, shampoo, conditioner or hairspray to use. :)
Boots sell a product called Naked Volume Unleashed Body Building Shampoo which claims to help boost your hair, http://www.boots.com/en/Naked-Volume-Unleashed-Body-Building-Shampoo_28862/
There were quite a few but this one just caught my eye. :)

I don't know much with how to take good care of your hair but colouring is bad. Don't dye it

Like someone said, I think volumising moose or something similar will definitely help.
