Hey,
Basically I am looking for a new keyboard, but am not sure what to get.
Key info:
Maximum Price: £70
Will be used for FPS games (eg. COD/BF)
Gaming KB isn't essential - if it isn't worth the price
Wired is prefered, as obviously the response times are normally better.
Must be fairly highly rated - no crap!
I understand gaming keyboards are good, but don't want to spend £40 more if the quality is only slightly better.
Suggestions?
Cheers
Jack!

The only real gaming keyboard I've had experience with is an Razer one, they are decent enough, can rotate the keypad around to get the the buttons easier and align them and stuff to your hand.

Would you say it is worth the extra £8? I am sure I could afford more if it is worth it!
It's been loyal to me for 3 years, Nothing has failed me, Nice and wide, feels strong. All in all a good keyboard to me. So yes, definitely worth it

Hmm, might go for it then :)
In terms of typing, how do the keys feel, are they loud?
Well, when i'm typing they are but i use both index fingers and hit the keys hard so i know ive hit them, but if i touch type they are as loud as any other keyboard

Get a Microsoft Ergonomic 4000. Your wrists and hands can thank me later.

Why on *earth* do you need to spend more than £30 on a keyboard?!

I have their Laser 5000 atm, just I would like a wired keyboard. The Ergonomic 4000 has a really dodgy look to it - could take some getting used to :P

I don't. I generally put on a maximum price, but only buy if it is worth the extra price.

I have a £40 Logitech wireless keyboard and mouse and I play games such as CoD with them no problem?

I seem to be having a problem with mine as of late - pressing keys and them no reacting (eg. having to press a key three times to get it to respond), which in an FPS game is clearly a problem :P

I use a Microsoft Sidewinder X4, works great and is backlit. Also has 18 programmable macro keys. Cost me around £40, normally £60 in most places though.
Also has volume control buttons and music control.
£34 here: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Microsoft-Sidewinder-X4-Keyboard-Layout/dp/B0037KLSS8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=computers&qid=1307022582&sr=8-1
