Hey,

Similar to other thread.

Basically I am looking for a new mouse, but am not sure what to get.

Key info:
Maximum Price: £60
Will be used for FPS games (eg. COD/BF)
Gaming mouse is essential
Wired is prefered, as obviously the response times are normally better.
Must be fairly highly rated - no crap!

I am looking for a good mouse, with buttons on the side to set as certain things.

Suggestions?

Cheers

Bit over your price range but - http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B003CP0BHM/ref=asc_df_B003CP0BHM3054611?smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&tag=googlecouk06-21&linkCode=asn&creative=22206&creativeASIN=B003CP0BHM Should be a very robust mouse.

Or the lower model of http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0041TJZ8O/ref=pd_lpo_k2_dp_sr_2?pf_rd_p=103612307&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B003CP0BHM&pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_r=043TQY0R35045172M068

Any reason you suggest those?

I will say they are hideous though :P

Again, why would you spend >£30 on a MOUSE?! It's not the hardware that makes you a better player! ;)

Oh I can play fine, it is when your keyboard isn't particularly responsive you get a problem. So I am just looking for a good keyboard, that is wired and easy to play with.

ER just realised this is the mouse thread ;) I would like a few extra programmable buttons on the side basically.

I bought this http://cgi.ebay.ie/Prestigio-3D-Sub-Laser-USB-5-Button-Medium-Gaming-Mouse-/270694371507?pt=UK_Computing_ComputerComponents_Ke yboardsMice&hash=item3f06a450b3 it's pretty useful and cheap. I have it about a year now, still works flawlessly

It is, at least in my case. Keyboards definitely not, but a good mouse will help quite a bit.

I'm a heavy BC2 player, and the more expensive mice use the better lasers which is everything for pinpoint accuracy.

I recommend the G500

I know this is slitly off topic but can you buy a usb controller and play cod on the pc with that?

Yeah you can, but you would get raped. Seriously.

Really? raped as in people would bite your head off for cheating or the other players would just be better than you?

A mouse will and always has been far better than a controller. Console FPS games always have a built in autoaim mechanism to compensate for the controller, whereas the PC version wouldn't, hence, you'd be raped, again... and again... and again.

My older brother is mad about gaming and he's got this mouse:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Microsoft-MHC-00004-Wireless-Mobile-Mouse/dp/B0025U14TE/ref=dp_cp_ob_computers_title_0

I know it's wireless but it's really reliable and not expensive!

Doesn't work - serousl difficult - controllers are nothing like as good as mouse for FPS - hence why I don't play FPS on my PS3 haha :) Thanks anyway :)

Keyboard is more because of my current being unresponsive so want a wired one that is also good to type on :P

Will take a look at it!

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=KB-002-BZ is the one I use. It's extremely sensitive and precise, but you can turn the dpi down using the button behind the scroller or through the config software supplied with it.

(also has a comfortable ergonomic design)

What games do you play because if he is interested in mostly FPS games I doubt he will use all the buttons

I have a Razer Naga.

5600dpi, mainly designed for MMOs but it can be REALLY useful for weapon swaps since the side buttons can clone the 1 to = keys or numpad if you want to assign them to something else. The accuracy is great too.

I generally avoid Logitech Gaming Series peripherals (I have the G15 keyboard), I think their build quality is shoddy.

I only play CoD 4 and Battlefield BC2 on pc, but the buttons come in handy.

^^ That's why I think it's slightly better than the deathadder, its a good all rounder, good for MMOs and the extra buttons are good if you ever feel you'll need them in a FPS.
