You're riding a dead horse, I'm 99% sure you won't find one for free.

If it's been in contract or something, try giving the original network a ring, they may give you it for free.

Depending on the phone, you can do it yourself.

If you find the right firmware and unlocking algorithm you can flash it straight onto your phone. That's what I did with my old k800i!

Just be careful that you don't brick your phone. ;)

A lot of phones nowadays like smartphones you cant do this with though, I know with Nokias and older Sony Ericsson phones you could download software to do it.

Also, firmware has nothing to do with accepting the SIM card or not :P

The new firmware had it integrated to remove the restriction for the transition of signal from the SIM to the phone itself.

It worked for me! :P

I'm sure most phones now especially ZTE models are easily unlocked with a special ZTE calculator which you can Google.

Usually if you go to eBay and searching for'['Phone Name] unlock code' and it appears in a listing for approx £1.00 then it can be unlocked free you just need to do some searching for the actual calculator. I've only ever done ZTE and Blackberry for free.

So yeah, depends on the phone really.
