Please tell me another series of films, what's got so many people so excited? and have watched since the start, and has developed into what it is today.

Edit: Apart from Star Wars. ofc.

But Harry Potter's probably as big of Star Wars now.

Star Trek is a TV show and that has far more fans.

James Bond, The Lord of the Rings...

Potter is a powerhouse franchise and the most successful *financially* - as long as you don't adjust for inflation, in which case it isn't - but it's not the biggest series to ever hit the movies. And how could it when its principle actors are that atrocious? Heh.

As big as Star Wars? Not a chance. Do not even entertain the idea.

Me.

I love Harry Potter,

But I love Star Wars more.

I don't automatically look at a film's success and think; wow, that's the best film ever! I mean, look at Avatar, or even the Call of Duty series.

iBlueBox

If you take the whole Harry Potter world as a franchise, with the books, merchandise and the theme park.

That's a whole lot of money.

Oh yeah, I agree. The actors in Harry Potter are atrocious. Those atrocious actors are part of the reason it is the biggest series of movies in terms of excitement factor etc in the 21st century (in my opinion, and lets be honest with ourselves it probably is when looking at the thing that matters. The amount of money it makes.

Looking forward to this as I do enjoy the movies. It is a shame they are never as thorough as the books, although you have to expect that when you look at the superb amounts of detail in the books.

I have nothing against Harry Potter (apart from the principle actors abilities) and am happy that it gives British workers in the industry so much work. I do not like the films as they've never appealed to me. All I said was that to make such a statement as was made earlier is preposterous, but as usual it's jump on Adam no matter what.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, as it was meant to be seen! See Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Parts 1 and 2 back to back! Yes, hour upon hour of the very last installment in the Harry Potter saga seen as it was intended; in one big Harry Potter shaped chunk.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 - 2D

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part I is pretty much the movie event everyone's been waiting for. The penultimate Harry Potter film ever (they decided to split Deathly Hallows in two - it was a big book and there's a lot of stuff to get sorted!) sees Harry, Ron and Hermione embark on the journey of their lifetime, to uncover the secret of Voldemort's immortality and, in turn, the key to his destruction - the Horcruxes! And all without the protection of Dumbledore. And to make matters worse, the Death Eaters have seized control of Hogwarts and seek their ultimate prize - Harry himself!

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 - 3D
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2 is the final adventure in the Harry Potter film series. The much-anticipated motion picture event is the second of two full-length parts.

In the epic finale, the battle between the good and evil forces of the wizarding world escalates into an all-out war. The stakes have never been higher and no one is safe. But it is Harry Potter who may be called upon to make the ultimate sacrifice as he draws closer to the climactic showdown with Lord Voldemort.

It all ends here.

Saw it a couple of hours ago OMG. My only complaints are...

Voldemort vs Harry needed a little more umph and I thought it could have been a little longer and maybe Ralph Fiennes could have acted a little more desperate in the final scenes and WHY DIDN'T THEY SHOW LUNA 19 YEARS LATER OMG.

Some of my favourite parts...

Professor McGonagall taking on Snape, Neville's power level is over 9000, every time Ralph Fiennes spoke, SNAPE'S DEATH and everything else!

Seeing it again on Tuesday.

YAYYYYYYYYYYYYY IT WAS AMAZING AND I ALMOST GOT MUGGED AFTER IT BUT IT WAS SO WORTH IT
right i haven't read what anybody else has said but yeah so

so happy they kept in molly weasley saying 'NOT MY DAUGHTER YOU *****'
wish she said it a bit more dramatically though cos i'm fairly sure it's in all capitals in the book

what i didn't get is why there were so many student bodies around the place? not that many died.....

AND THEN I AM SOOO SO SO SO SO UPSET MY FAVOURITE LINE WASN'T IN THE MOVIE
you know just before snape dies and he says 'look.... at..... me'
but i'm glad they did exaggerate the him and lily thing

SO YEAH WOOOOO NOT MUCH ELSE TO COMPLAIN ABOUT THAT I CAN REMEMBER

oh wait i can, they should have mentioned EVERYTHING from the epilogue
in writing even, would have been nice for the people who only watch the movies to know how everyone else ends up

the whole thing was disappointing except snape's scene which was amazing, way way better than i'd hoped for. he def said look at me. when he was dying + talking, it didn't sound like he was in pain ;l
wish i rewatched part 1 cause i forgot what they'd taken out etc. i swear i musta fell asleep during some parts (A)

at the beginning did they even explain why and how hermione was dressed as bellatrix? & who ron was meant to be (just a muggle) cause she just suddenly appeared like that n off they popped ;l

FRED'S DEATH WAS CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PERCY SHOULD HAVE BEEN THERE:@ was he?!?! didnt see him but when Ron saw Fred in the hall that was soooooo sad

you know when they came through the portrait of ariana (did they even explain what happened to her, can't remember) and everyone was there they just said "get the rest" (of the order), could they not have used the coins they used in dumbledores army .....

the statues part was good

just like the 1st part they hardly spoke about the hallows and harry didn't go in to detail about where voldemort would have hidden the horcruxes and why. it really shows how well harry understands voldemort and the connection they have.

lol at killing lavendar brown hahahahhahahaahhahahaahahahahahahahaa but not colin creevey ;l

btw tara they said 50 unknown people, not incl death eaters, died after the book was finished, oh & she also said neville ends up with hannah abbott + luna ends up with some random. y even put neville and luna at the end if that was the case

slytherin to the dungeons? don't think so.... :S the whole 'comedy' aspect ruined it

oh but lol filch haha bless

killing nagini was ridic, ~harry loses the fang~ oh no, ~ron loses the fang~, NEVILLE SAVES THE DAY! they didnt even tell neville that it was important to kill her, not just to save ron n hermione but to kill voldemort, which harry told him to in the book

ummmm ron n hermione should have kissed infront of harry ;l there was no moment before it....

bellatrixs death was so quick, i would have hoped voldemort was there to see it and harry could give us 'try for some remorse' speech and explain why the wand was not his there instead of afterwards to ron n hermione

AND THEN. THIS IS A BIG ONE. harry didn't repair his wand before he snapped the elder? so he has dracos!?:S

was hagrids brother even there? urgh wish hagrid joined the actual fight too at the castle with fang. & the house elves too? where were they? i'm mad at that. its supposed to show how it's literally everyone fighting

harry revealing he was alive. what the hell was that it was so ba :/

oh wait i apologise i just looked it up and apparently he does say it but then after he says the mothers eyes bit

they showed them with a hair that they had taken in the first movie from bellatrix, and people should know from the other movies what polyjuice potion does/is by now so

agree about freds death, most people probably don't even know which twin it was!

with ariana they never really got too deep into the whole dumbledore story in DH part 1, so i can understand them not explaining that much

im too lazy to read the rest of what you said but with the 50 people i always thought that wasn't the students, cos it's a small enough school
this is what the harry potter wiki says

It is likely most of them were adults at least seventeen years old, as Harry Potter did not see anyone he recognised dead, besides those he named.[2] It is likely that half of the fallen would have been fellow students, the rest possibly members of the Order of the Phoenix, staff members, or residents of Hogsmeade.

dunno how you're disappointed i thought it was amazing, they fit as much accuracies into a 2 hour movie or whatever as they could

I thought he was Harrys dad, just the way it was put together seemed like it was but after a google search it says he isn't. he was in love with Harry's mum Lily, they were friends when they were younger and during hogwarts and he was bullied by harry's dad James (even though he saved his life once) and Sirius etc. then he got in to a bad crowd and called Lily a mudblood so she broke off their friendship when they were around 15 years old. Snape hated Harry's dad and thought they were alike but he had her eyes. Snape was a death eater and he overheard a prophecy (the reason voldemort went for harry) but didn't listen to it all and he told voldemort about it, then voldemort decided to go for Harry and Snape asked him to spare Lily's life and he also asked Dumbledore to protect her but voldemort killed her anyway and so ever since he's been on Dumbledore's side, saving Harry because it's Lily's son. so ye it's really sad that he'd do all that for a woman :'( n if you remember in part 1 there was a doe patronus that led Harry to the pond to get the sword of gryfindor, it was Snape's patronus which is also the same as Lily's that lead him there, so he put it there for him and was always really on Harry's side.

Saw it yesterday and can honestly say that it was my favourite of the films. Most of the bits that were changed were changed for the better and of course some details were missed out, but that's what's expected from films - although I would gladly sit through a considerably longer version that sticks exactly to the book.

Yeah, that's one thing that irked me. The film seemed to hint at a romance between Neville and Luna but nothing of the sort had been explored or hinted previously so it seemed a bit spontaneous and pointless.

I actually think the

Neville+Luna

should have been a canon relationship in the books. they seem to fit quite well together although mainly pre-DH.

I enjoyed it, I'd read some bad things about the

19 years later

bit so I was expecting to laugh but I think it worked much better in the films than it did in the books.

I didn't mind the changes tbh. Yeah sure...

Harry didn't say to Neville "Kill the snake" but regardless of that, the snake was just about to attack two of his friends - Ron and Hermione - and he happened to have the sword, you're not gonna say "OH WAIT HARRY TOLD ME NOT TO KILL IT SO I'LL JUST WATCH" In fact the only change I'm particularly bothered about is when Dumbledore says:

"I'd like to change the wording. Help will always be given to those who deserve it" NO NO NO dumbledore, it was perfect as it was. youve ruined the message of it now.

only before Lily died, he was a death eater from after hogwarts onwards so like 18-21 because remember he was in the same year as Harrys mum and dad and they died when they were 21 (Harrys dad looks well older lol) once she died he acted as voldemorts servant but was really dumbledores after voldemort killed Lily. If you think about it he saved Harrys life a lot like in the first one when he stopped quirell throwing Harry off his broom etc n even made potions to keep lupin from turning into a werewolf even though he didn't like him so yeah he was mostly a good guy, only person I recall him killing was dumbledore for good reason

oh and Chris only hates the Luna and Neville because Luna's his fave ;)

oh and another thing I wish they included was where Harry figures out that what dumbledore sees in the mirror of erised and when he drank the potion in HBP but they didn't talk about Ariana so I guess they couldn't :(

It was good and didn't drag, I didn't mind some missed parts due to reading the books, I just thought the fights could've been more epic especially the Mcgonnagall/Snape encounter and when Molly kills Bellatrix, I mean after everything awful Bella did it just seemed rushed and also how it didn't link to Harry revealing himself like it does in the book.

You can buy them, they're like £2. Ripoff if you ask me, not gonna make the film look any different.

I assumed they would be complimentary :P Doesn't really apply to me though. 3D TV is probably one of the only advances in technology that I do not understand the hype for...

Nice spoiler Robi...

Was very good imo the bit where harry kills you know who was a bit... quick and uninteresting, i picture it around sunrise on the outskirts of the woods with all chaos, then when he dies everybody going silent.. but other than that very good

I'm sure you'll get over it! Everyone knows what happens because if your a true fan then you would of read the books, if your not a true fan then how dare you post on here! :o

Saw it this afternoon after missing it yesterday thanks to traffic :( I saw it in 3D and in my opinion it didn't add to the film really. Some parts seemed to drag on a little bit but overall it was very good. I just wish that I hadn't real so much about it as a lot of the sites I looked at blew a lot of the scenes out of proportion. For instance at one point I was expecting a battle between two characters which wasn't that spectacular or as long as the site had proclaimed it to be.

I watched it on saturday and I really enjoyed it. I was slightly disappointed with the actual battle part though.

OH MY GOD.

I seen it in IMAX 3D, TODAY, visually it was amazing, good ending for the most successful film franchisee of all time,

The 3D wasn't eye popping but it added depth into it,

only thing i didnt like was

bellatrix's death. I know it looked good but it looked abit ott, same with voldemort dying. Like I swear he's just meant to of split his soul into horcruxes, why the **** does his death have to be all FLAKING AWAY INTO THE WIND

oh also I didnt like the fact that
THE MOST POWERFUL WAND IN THE WORLD CAN BE SNAPPED IN HALF. I swear it's not meant to be able to get destroyed just like that :S

My favourite scene - oddly enough - was when Harry revealed himself in the great hall and that mini duel broke out between Snape and McGonagall. So well done! :D

Absolutely loved it though, can't wait to have all eight on DVD. I'll be having loads of Harry Potter days!!! :P

I didn't notice to be honest?

Favourite characters in this film were Professor McGonnagall (Maggie Smith) and Professor Snape (Alan Rickman) - superb! :D

Just watched Deathly Hallows Part 1 again since I'm seeing Part 2 again tomorrow. Then bring on the post-Potter depression.

I honestly felt like crying when I left the cinema because I've seen it all now -- ridiculous. At least we have Pottermore to look forward to!

Anyone as hardcore as me stay until the end of the credits despite cleaners coming in and being all like WHY YOU STILL HERE? THERE ISN'T A SCENE AT THE END.

killing nagini was ridic, ~harry loses the fang~ oh no, ~ron loses the fang~, NEVILLE SAVES THE DAY! they didnt even tell neville that it was important to kill her, not just to save ron n hermione but to kill voldemort, which harry told him to in the book

Saw it again today and Harry did actually say to Neville and the others: "We have to kill the snake!"

i think they could of bumped the film up half hour or something and added abit more to it. It seems abit rushed to fit as much in as possible. Well after reading the book it looked like it to me

I imagine there will be some deleted scenes, but no one wants to be stuck in a cinema for that long really.
