Hi guys!

I feel like it was last year again haha, where I was here advertising JumpOnMushroom. Last year the site ran from August 1st - September 7th and accumulated 100k+ views and quite a strong reader focus.

Although I'll admit rather than fob with excuses, the site did come to a huge halt due to writers dropping out and the horrible things known as A Levels getting in the way.

This summer, we intend to release V4 of JumpOnMushroom! July 1st we'll release going back to a very simple and chilled theme to which we had a similar of before.

JumpOnMushroom is a satire rich media sensation hitting your screens July 1st 2011. After a succesful run in Summer 2010, JumpOnMushroom is coming back with the latest news, reviews and features of Films, Games, Tech and Music with no added bullsh**! We'll give you blunt facts, humour and adolescent bad language in each article which was very well received from all types of viewers from teenagers to adults last year.

We aim to inform and entertain in a simple, social manner without the overenforced professional, stuck up suit most media sites seem to utilise.

We are looking for writers and video content producers, hit me up at [email protected] for information.

I just read that Social Network 'review'. I laughed.

You can't open an article site when your linguistic skills are... limited.

The theme is really quite nice, if not a bit inconsistent in places. There are a few things that leave me really baffled though and probably are worth a look at. Bear in mind when I'm saying this stuff it's with every bit of understanding as a fellow blogger.

You'll likely need to sort out your SEO a bit if you want to make a bigger success of this, start with setting permalinks in your WordPress Dashboard so that your urls look less like /?p=529 and instead something more descriptive like /2010/08/the-social-network which will play nicely with the search engines.

Other than that I would simply suggest adding a META description tag, as with a name like 'JumpOnMushroom' (brilliant while obscure) you'll probably have to include a descriptive explanation for people coming from Google etc.

I've got no problems with the content as I couldn't be bothered to write anywhere near as much if I was in your position, you've got great potential to stand out with what you write- so perhaps try reflecting that with your titles too? A review with the title "Josh explores the twisted addictiveness of Habbo" will be picked up by searchers and browsers more than 'Habbo Hotel'.

It's viral, no b/s writing like yours that could really attract a unique brand of reader so I think you've got the scope to do a fantastic job! Look into the little things I picked up on if you like and see if it helps out in the long run.

Good luck!

Thanks for the constructive response Elliot!

The site isn't done, we had a relapse with hosting but I didn't want to delay the opening so there's bits left unfinished such as widgets and plugins, meta tags and permalinks. I agree with your titles and I'll have a look through and do what I can with them!

I'll admit my expectations of this going HUGE are very low due to the lack of team and ability at the moment but it's something me and the others love doing and a small amount of readers is good enough for us. We've taken a unique approach to our content and those who've read through it properly have come back to read again and we've had mostly positive feedback towards our content aside from the few people who're too far up themselves with condescension to realise that the site isn't like IGN but more relaxed and down to earth with casual writing and crude humour.

Thank you again, and I'll take your advice in mind. If there's anything else, let me know!
