Just wondering if your school is affected by the strikes? Mines closed next thursday due to it. :)

My course will not be affected in college, but I know some of them will be.

My school isn't sure yet, but we'll be spending the day at a university regardless of the outcome so I won't be getting the day at home either way! :P
This is why unions are a bad idea; they are simply disruptive and allows groups of people to get ahead of themselves. Sure, complain about the pay you get in your own time, but there is no need to disrupt students' education. I also find it extremely petty (just like the BA strikes, for example). These people are in some of the best paid professions yet they STILL want more pay.. and in the current climate where people simply can't get jobs then it's just greedy to expect more. I'd really consider firing the lot of them.
Some teachers from my college are striking but I don't have college anyway :D
None up here, I finish school on thursday anyway for the summer!

My sisters school is closing but I dont know if mine is closing yet, depends how many staff go on strike.
Primary school where I work won't be closing. Unfortunately you aren't allowed to ask teachers if they are striking or not, just if they're in the union so it's very hard to make a decision as to if to close or not.
We always work around strikes however. More work for the TAs!

Scary to think teachers money is good, considering the poor starting salary lmao

My school is open but 16 teachers are striking, so some of our timetables might be affected and will end up in the hall doing quizzes and watching boring films, yawnnnnnnnnnn
Year 5&6 open nobody else. Parents who cannot make arrangements may allow their child to come into the year 5&6 year as long as there isn't loads.
