Earthquakes and sudden rocks falling from the sky in certain areas like edgeville have suddenly started occuring. Their reason for happening could be about the recent Clan Citadels announcement coming on the 26th July, similar to how the strange power pointed in the direction of Daemonheim. Heres a screenshot taken from the Runescape Wiki

The area's dropped with fallen rocks are:
Catherby
Castle Wars

Daemonheim
Duel Arena
Port Phasmatys

Did these just suddenly fall down or did they come in with a update?

They just suddenly fell, similar to how the strange power event occured months before Dungeoneering was released.

It sounds like it could be an interesting update. I like the way they're building up to it. :D

No, you just move to the nearest square that isnt blocked by the rocks, unharmed
