Its been a while since I let everyone know what's going on down in the world of dynamic radio.

We've been spending most of the time lately kitting our studio out. We had a few delays with BT when it came to our business phone line which also in turn effected our business broadband but that's up and running.

We have most of the equipment, including mixer, PC, Compressor/Limiter, Pro sound card, microphone. I've got a Pioneer Amp on the way in the post and just need to sort out some speakers.

We do plan to keep kitting it out though. We are looking at getting a telephone hybrid eventually for doing calls. While we are sorting out our staff we will be sorting the acoustic's out in the studio, to prevent stuff such as echo.

We will be launching in September. This is due to the fact our main audience is students, and most go home during the summer. This however gives us lots of time to get sorted and test everything out. We'v even had an article alongside pictures published this Friday just gone in our local paper, Cumberland News.

To check the pictures and keep up to date with us check out http://www.facebook.com/dynamicradiouk

P.S. Our website is currently down however due to us changing hosts after issues with our former web host

Thanks for reading

It's a room. Simple as. Nothing wrong with it.

And what do you mean Luke? Just because we are online, doesn't mean we can't have a studio.

I've saw a few posts from you about this now and looking really forward to it. What sort of music are you going to be playing, just regular latest stuff or other genres such as Dance on the weekends too?

Are the presenters going to be based all around the world/UK or just in that area so they pop along to the studio to do their show?

Also, I checked the photos of your studio on the Facebook page and it's a nice little pad which suits the purpose perfectly. I'm assuming as you have a studio, you're going to be inviting local guests in to be interviewed live on air, if that is the case then what is the setup for that because I can only see one setup for the presenter.

Sounds really good, please keep us updated. :)

At the moment we only have really one room but it is on a business complex and eventually we'd like to get a room for actual performances. We could do interviews however, and even a few small performances e.g. acoustic stuff. There's a bar that does a lot of live music interested in doing some work alongside us just next to us to.

Our music will be mixed, probably more pop stuff through the day but we'll be playing a variety, mixed shows, specific genre shows etc. A lot of our presenters will be local students at the University of Cumbria here in Carlisle, but we wont be in the studio all the time, definitely to begin with so we'll also have online presenters. We've got a few from overseas also doing the late shows.

Absolutely love this, it's like a boyhood dream for me having a bright cosy room with loads of gadgetry :O (I say that, I would just drink Yorkshire Tea all day and auto-play the music) I wish you the best of luck with everything!

One thing I will say is that a trip to IKEA is probably needed as that desk looks a little sorry :P Get a cheap poster up or a bit of signage too when you can, declare that Dynamic has arrived or something!

Ha yeah just got the desk for £25 the other day, there's a second hand furniture place right next to us. We are thinking of decorating the room and having our logo somewhere and then having a webcam showing the logo on the screen in the background and probably will get other bits up.

But right now we need speakers so we can hear our sound ha. I may have found some good ones for cheap but waiting for my sound engineer guy as he knows what's best

Im really looking forward to this launching

Maybe you should get a big desk, to go in the center of the room, maybe have 2 monitors, and chairs that spin kind of thing :P also with it in the middle you can have presenters one side, guests on the other side, just to keep it organized, and get some of them blue soft seat things you find in places for people to sit on :P

Cheers I'm going to probably be looking at better desks and stuff eventually but want to make sure I've got all the main stuff. I could look into separating the area for guests, not a bad idea, would just have to make sure it isn't too cramped as the room isn't the biggest, but cheers for the idea!

It's not that I'm slating, it's just my personal opinion, but do you NEED this equipment, just to stream to an online audience. An audience you don't even know the figures of yet? I mean, if you were guaranteed a good listener rate, then yeah, professional is good, but if not, then is it worth it?

Sometime's you have to take risk. I've just finished my degree and at the university I studied lots of students where annoyed that the university didn't have a student radio and was even working with the student union to turn it official. It fell through as they wanted to own it all but couldn't pay any of the fees.

So I'm making a radio that's main audience is students and will be also ran by lots of local presenters. I already have a few who will be doing shows and as time progresses and we get popular we aim to get more.

And we do have some of the equipment and through the next few months while we are planning the launch we will be kitting it out with more. I am picking up a pioneer amp in the morning and will be getting speakers soon, possibly Tannoy studio monitors.
