Alternative and rock music-

I was looking through the music thread and i noticed there wasn't many conversations about rock and alternative music, I don't know if many people on here like the style of music but i'll give it a go!
I thought we could start the thread by saying our favorite artists/bands - mine are Paramore and My Chemical Romance.

Mine's all over the place as I like a good mix of music but when it comes to alternative rock I've always liked a little bit of the cure and have been aiming to get hold of more of their stuff, same goes to r.e.m.

Paramore + MCR are the two bands I grew up with though :-(

THEY ARE AMAZING AREN'T THEY HELENA!!!

MCR was the first band I ever saw live, I had a hoodie to proove it, but I left it in a pizzeria in Paris, but they blew me away anyway, doing all the fist pumping etc. Never deserved the hate they got :-( this was when I thought it'd be cool to be emo though, now I think it's cool to be a hipster!!!! (70% joking? dno)

I like My Chemical Romance, but I like a bit of everything. It's funny but most bands that get labelled as emo hate the word. I can understand why with a lot of their lyrics but isn't emo just emotional. Isn't Lady In Red by Chris Deburge (or something) emotional. I've never understood the label.

My Chemical Romance has also suffered the problem a lot of other bands do. They tried to change their style a bit, bands who don't often get called boring - people have often said some of coldplay's albums are just too similar, but bands who do often get complaints because their style isn't the same. People who start listening to their new style, even if they start to also like their old often then get classed as newbies, people who haven't been fans forever and so on.

Yet look at two amazing bands in my opinion. AC/DC and The Hives are the same as they where, well the hives did experiment a little with some songs in their last album. They are still popular so it can work.

MCR, I Just love them. I began to listen to them about 2 months ago when one of my friends told me they had a song called Helena. In that two months i have become obsessed! I'd love to see them live! Also, I rather like paramore but there beginning to become sell outs just for the money not the fans :/ Oh and I Opened this Thread because all the music ones are about 'Dance' Music :D

These two bands are fantastic, I've seen conditions live just after they released their first album omg they were amazing blew NFG away.
Would love to see heroes for hire shame they only tour AUS.

Dont take this the wrong way but I don't think you can complain about Paramore selling out when you got a GaGa sig ;)

paramore sold out about 2 years ago. well in all fairness, paramore sold out when hayley williams joined the band. the backstory behind her joining the band is all very interesting stuff. well worth a google.

They are a canadian rock, reggae, ska and dub band. They went on tour with no doubt and Paramore a few years back. Check this video out:

The youtube Vid's wont work, Also, I just found this on the internet.
Pop-punk group Paramore is losing two of its founding members. The band announced that guitarist Josh Farro and drummer Zac Farro are leaving.
The announcement led to a lot of noise on the Web. Almost immediately, Web searches for "paramore breakup" and "paramore band splits" surged into breakout status.
The band posted a statement on its official site confirming that the split had been in the works for some time.
"A couple of months ago, Josh and Zac let us know they would be leaving the band after our show in Orlando last Sunday. None of us were really shocked. For the last year it hasn't seemed as if they wanted to be around anymore. We want Josh and Zac to do something that makes them happy and if that isn't here with us, then we support them finding happiness elsewhere."

Paramore are OK I suppose, not a big fan and I don't really like MCR at all!
I would say my most favourite band is Framing Hanley and I met the main singer Kenneth Nixon (Best night ever)
Also, Good Charlotte. I saw Good Charlotte live and was possibly the best gig I ever went too!

i saw good charlotte when i was 13 and they put a really good show on back then. they've gone to **** in recent years though.
