View Full Version : Have you ever had a House Party?

If you have, share your stories, was it a good night? did it all go to plan?

I've had one, my parents went to London for the night, so i invited 7 of my friends around, they then wanted girls over, and a bunch of girls were at this one girls house who lives in the same area as me, so they came around, then more people came around and it grew to about 20-25 people :l I was scrubbing the floors untill 5 in the morning as my parents came back at 11am (The floors were filthy because people were walking from my hot tub into the toilet so it completely wrecked the flooring). And then i had to clean the garden and some idiots didn't put their cigarette butts in the bucket I provided, so I was hosing down the decking for a good 40 minutes :/

It was annoying because I couldn't even enjoy the night as I spent majority of it checking to make sure everything was going alright and the house was alright. I wouldn't have another one unless my parents knew and were alright with me having it so I wouldn't have to rush to clean everything.

Not really a proper house party, but a few people around for drinks yeah. I wouldn't really invite more than 4 or 5 because like you, I wouldn't be able to enjoy myself as much because I'd be worrying about whats going on.

I've had several when I was living with my parents, put it this way, I never learnt from the first time.

I think my parents would kill me if I had one, and i'd feel too guilty if anything got broken/stolen.
...actually i'll rephrase that. I'd feel too guilty when stuff would definitely get broken/stolen.

And ofcourse i'd never risk a house party when I have a £1300 PC and several laptops lying around the place.
People who do house parties are mad! I've never actually heard of a successful house party that doesn't end badly (unless it's a sophisticated one ofcourse).

It's very unlikely for my house to be completely empty for a day, let alone a night. Also, I've been to quite a few house parties and the state they're in afterwards tells me I should never have one.

House parties never go as planned :P

I haven't had a proper one because its more fun with fewer people.

I never had a house party. I had gatherings once or twice every year. I'm sure mine was better than yours. :P We don't have to clean up or whatever.
It sucks, right? Too many people will mess it up although the more, the merrier.

Hah, not in my house. Other peoples houses, great. Don't feel like trashing my house though.

of all the house parties i've been to, only one has been trashed and that was because the house was simply too small for the amount of people that were inside at the time. i've been to loads where barely anythings been broken or trashed - one party was held in a proper proper expensive house and everything was left as we first found it - simply because my friends, and the people that also go, aren't ********* who look to wreck the place.

i've had a few um they always went alright, everyone would help with the clean up at the end and stuff, well most people.
the only bad thing thats ever happened was two people went up to my brothers bedroom and
the next day..........
there was blood on his sheets

Since people are telling stories of trashes, one I went to was at my friends house and lets say they weren't poor and their house was big and full of loads of ornament things, but anyway the only thing that hapened to those was that they got moved around a bit into dirty positions. Then some girl got upset and locked herself in the bathroom, so someone took it upon themselves to break the door in, by doing so they broke the door, the frame and part of the wall around the door, can't remember how much they had to pay to fix it though

i haven't, my house isnt big enough and i wouldn't want to but my brother did when he still stayed here. the deal was he'd buy me alcohol (i was 15) and 2 friends could stay. it wasn't bad compared to some i've been to but my trampoline got broken, the edge of my recliner was ****** due to some fat mess sitting on it, half my brother's iron tablets were all over the living room floor, the gate was broken, our hover was taken for a 'walk' and never seen again but we woke up the next morning with a pink panther lightshade. it was mostly my brother's mates over but one of them brought another friend and she had a cheek to ask who i was ;l

best house party i went to wasn't even a house party just pre-drinks, there were only 10 or so of us and i knew 4 of them.... we were like using his bread as an ashtray, there were eggs cracked on his cooker, his toothpaste/shaving cream/soap/shampoo was all over the bathroom, all his plates in the washing machine, his milk in the kettle, tshirts in the oven, smashed drinking glasses, clock on his wall smashed too, cushions and part of his sofa thrown out the window omg, kitchen tap left on for a few hours... it was mean but he totally deserved it.

Exactly :S
I've had two house parties this year in my house where nothing has been damaged, just drinks spilled on floors/carpets (which is obviously going to happen.)
I've been to loads of house parties and never yet been to one where everything has been ****** up.

Moral of the story - don't invite ****'s.

House parties are brillant! You can't beat a good 'un

I had while my mother went away for a few days. It ended with sick all over my house and someone going in an ambulance. I thought my life was over. They all slept and my dad came home in the morning and I screamed everyone to get upstairs. My dad came in and I was talking to him trying to hide all of the cig butts, and bottle tops while talking :P He took the dog for a walk after and I told everyone to go to my other mates house while I get rid of my dad. I thought it all went well until photos were uploaded to fb and mother found out :'). It t'was actually hilarious looking back though.

in my uni house (like halls but houses) i did yeah, and we trashed the place hahah. i've never had one at my parents house because i wouldn't want the complete responsibility. but i didn't own the uni house and i paid too much rent for it anyway.

had "gatherings" at my parents house while they've been away like 8-10 people, few drinks.
i tend to go to house parties at other peoples houses.

at uni everyday there was a houseparty somewhere.

Only at my uni house. Hadn't even properly moved in yet when one of the boys threw one. Sofa&cooker broke/paint of walls etc. miracle we even got our deposit on the house back ;/

I've had a few, my last one was a few weeks ago. I only invite 30 people that I trust to be in my house and are close friends. Nothing bad has happened at any of my parties, at other peoples I've been to parties have been gatecrashed and the police was called at one, glad nothing like that happened at mine.

I've also experienced just the one house getting a proper trashing seeing as I don't hang around with ***** nor do I attend house parties which are "open invitation" as it'll obviously be bad.

Moral of the story - don't invite ****'s.I've had two in the past year also. My first one was the night before New Years Eve and that was honestly one of the best nights of my life, pretty much everyone attended and most people were drunk. I could tell people were enjoying themselves and as a result I did too, I was very relaxed about things and no one seemed to take advantage. Other than rubbish everywhere and a few spillages, there was no real issue.

The second one also went quite well but never quite clicked for me, a close friend of mine through up outside and then ran off denying it (Apologised the next day :P) and then my Finnish exchange student was sick all over my bedroom. But then again that was my fault as he'd never drunk before and I handed him a bottle of vodka :L - All of it can be cleared up in a couple of hours anyway, my parents weren't too bothered.

I think a lot of people should just man up and hold house parties, not many of them get trashed; Get a decent iPod dock, lock away valuables, have a guest list without morons and be prepared to tidy up afterwards. It's not difficult.

My parents and my sisters are going away for a week and I was thinking of having one myself. I haven't decided yet but I'd be so afraid someone would get thrown through our aquarium or the 52" 3D TV, only because they'd be the two things pretty much impossible to replace before they come back xD

I haven't no. I don't think I ever would due to an experience with somebody elses..

There was this lad, who's parents were away on holiday, so he organised a party. Long story short, about 300 people turned up, and only about 100 were inside. There was people smashing windows, shouting, climbing through windows to get in, things were getting stolen etc.. At about midnight the police show up, and we all get kicked out. Me and a few mates come back at about 2, climb into the back garden and help ourselves to about £300 of stashed beer all around the garden. Happy days!

My parents go on holiday soon though, thinking about a small gathering, not so much a party..

Ok, since everyone is going into details about what has happened, in the 3/4 I've had, the following has happened (bearing in mind, my parents have a BIG house):
Someone sprayed painted the kitchen floor tiles silver
The same person spray painted MY name on the dog kennel
People decided to see who could do the best doughnuts on their bikes on my garden (not push bikes lol)
I had to kick through the bathroom door as someone locked themselves in
People decided to play darts from 50 foot away, one went through the window
There was coke, weed and booze EVERYWHERE
Someone was locked in the garage and KICKED the door open
Smashed coffee table

If I remember more, I'll add to the list lol.

I've never really had house partys as such, but last year we'd have mini sessions with all my friends most days out my back garden, which is pretty big considering where I live, a lot of the time there'd be other people there who I didn't really know too well but it was never anything too much. Nobody trashed anywhere and in the mornings a few of my friends who stayed over would all run up to the bottle bank which is behind my house and that'd be it. My brothers thrown a lot of partys at mine (not mine anymore but still) he didn't live there but he'd stolen somebodys key and let himself in. The most they've probably done is smash my mothers bathroom window which is directly above the toilet, kinda bound to happen when somebodys drunk and somebody broke a chair but that's really it. Never really been to a major house party, most keep to the outside like at the beach etc. which is always fun.

I have never had a house party but plenty of garden parties I prefer them as they are easier to clean up I think it is better to keep it small and intimate as oppose to large with attenders you dont even know.

When I were younger I would have one on the occasional weekend as my parents went away. But I don't know if you can really class it as a house party!

I only ever invited around 3-5 people that I trusted immensely and I knew would help me clean up afterwards.

We just had the party, not caring too much about mess and stuff until the morning when everyone would help me tidy up and it would all be done within an hour with everyone chipping in!

So they can be all fine and well without your parents finding out as long as you're careful who you invite!

yh i had one on new years last year, it was a good night. wouldn't do it again though, bare sick in my garden and the garden table broke cos we danced on it. but my friends are good and cleared most things up as the night went on and a few of them cleared the sick up for me except i cleaned up one patch in one of the bedrooms lololol

I have had a House Party before and it was awful. The house got trashed and it was just a mess, the police had to come round and get it under control because everyone was drunk, and the worse part I was left to clean up the morning after ;/

never again lmao

I've had loads when my mum has been on holiday.. LOL Funniest times i've had ever but also some bad moments. People being sick everywhere, i passed out in the bathroom, crying, fights, police, ambulances, things being stolen, all my food and drink taken :( laptop broke and the bad hangovers!! But there were still some fun nights lol

Guess i should be careful about who I let into the house really!!

I would never unless it was like, 2-3 close friends, i'd get really paranoid about stuff, plus the dog would go mad at people xD
Plus if they're close friends, I know they'd help with the clearing up
