A very Happy Birthday I would like to wish to Gregor Mendel. He had contributed a lot to the genetics field and thank you for the effort you put into your career. May you rest in peace. :)

Thread moved by sct (Forum Manager) From 'Congratulations and Thank Yous!'

A place to say congratulations, thankyou and wish members well.

There are millions of people in the world who are dead that we could make happy birthday threads for :P

YEAH GUYS GOD basically he was a monk and had nothing to do so started growing peas, and he realised that 1 in 4 pea pants made yellow peas instead of green peas! (obvs ridiculous supermarket rules and picknicketenss has got rid of this). This lead him to do a study of stuff and greatly contributed to the discovery of recessive and dominant genes! He was bald too

Oh, I see. I don't see how the 'bald' thing is even related to this thread? Unless you can contribute something like that, if not, then please shut up. :)

This thread is about him, I included some very useful information about him which you overlooked and simply threw in a comment about what he looked like.

The Justin Bieber birthday thread got closed last year I highly doubt this thread is needed either :S. I know he's probably not on the same wavelength as Justin Bieber but maybe make a thread whereby a lot have heard of him!

Happy Birthday?

Your post was in a very sarcastic way and I just don't like how you phrase your words.
Anyway, sorry then.

Happy Birthday?

Fyi, I think a lot of us (Science students or people who bother about it) have heard of him. So, yeah. Remove the '?' and say Happy Birthday! to him.

I have heard about him but I know many who haven't, so there is no need to go off one and be rude. This area is more based for forum related posts anyway, so maybe this would be more suited in spam or something.

Your tone is extremely rude and authoritative and there is no need to get over your head here.

Happy Birthday? None the less.

Gregor Mendel was a great big baldy although he appears to have some hair in his Wikipedia photograph; perhaps he bought one of the hair growing kits from the SkyMall magazine onboard an aircraft... who knows? It looks like he worked on a farm for several years so chances are that he drove a tractor, which is quite interesting because I don't think I've ever seen a German chap driving a tractor. But then again... I'm not sure why I'd want to. After starting out as a farmer, he somewhat bettered himself and got into the field of genetics, which is odd considering I'd personally rather be a farmer than staring at pot-plants and peas all day. Each to his own though.

It looks like a nice chap and he's gained place on Google.com which is the ultimate prize. I'm sure he'd be running around the house and kissing his peas with joy if he were still alive.

Happy birthday$:!?

How can you take that for not appreciating what he did? Many people before said they didnt know who he was so I was creating an informative post in a casual tone and slipping in facts that interest people. Also he didn't have anything to do except worship god... then he started growing peas and because of this did very worthwile stuff...

just because you create a boring thread doesn't mean people have to be boring in it. and please please PLEASE stop thinking you can tell people what to do and behaving like you're better than them.

I was trying to avoid this as much as possible but you keep on saying that over and over again. You with your post doesn't make this thread more interesting either. This thread wasn't meant to be interesting. Its just a normal Birthday thread and you act like an arrogant ***** and start talking **** here. Please stop acting so arrogant like you own this. It's not your first time you act like that to me.

It is just there are tons of famous peoples birthdays, many of whom have played massive parts in forming 'today's world' - there would need to be an entire new forum to celebrate all of them.

I don't mind that the user made the thread, it just seemed a bit strange (to me :L)
