Goin Alton Towers

Hi, I'm goin Alton Towers and of some of the rides I'm quite scared because I've always been terrified of drops and heights, some of them look alright but rides like Oblivion and Nemesis look awful! Smoothest/Best ride excluding these? Rita looks AMAZING THOUGH!!!

I went on Monday. First time going on rollercoasters (was time to man up). Went on Air, Rita and Oblivion - too tall for Thirteen.
They were amazing even if I did shout profanities whilst going on them. Also went on Hex. That was wierd.

Queues were long (exception Oblivion) - Rita was 1 hour long.

Was a good day.

Rita is overrated imo. The cable cars are amazing.

We left at 9:15 got back at 2:45 and went on all 5 big rides, great fun and only 15 mins down the road for me :) Longest we queued was 25 mins, wasn't a very busy day.

Its boring after the 5 main rides, and the ques where far to long to wait after lunch

How tall are you?

I'm 1.88m (Max. height was 1.99m sure) - I just didn't have the leg room to sit on the ride... which I was rather annoyed about (I'm sure you'd be as well after queuing a while! :P)

It doesn't compare at all to the big four (Nemesis, Oblivion, Rita and Air)

My favourite ride is probably Air and I advice you to go on that, it seems terrifying but its really not - especially once you go round the first time. Thirteen is over-rated in my opinion, I went on it not long after it was first released, gotta say it was pretty disappointing, I expected someone much better because of all the hype, but meh that might of been because I saw loads of Youtube videos of the ride and I knew what was going to happen and the thrill of Thirteen is not knowing what's gonna happen.

But if you're quite worried about rides, what I usually do is Youtube a few rides and see which one's you definitely won't go on and which one's you will.

I've been on them all a few times, amazing - just take the plunge and go on them, thats what I did a few years ago and now I love them. :)

Be sure to go on Hex for the weirdness factor.

If you want to go on everything I suggest booking a caravan/hotel and going for 2 days.

It was AMAZING! Best day ever! We went on Air first, I was well scared when the floor drops but then the first time was alright, so we went on it again at the end of the day, even though one of the people in my group pussied out ;) Sonic Spinball was good too, but we didn't go on Nemesis or Oblivion or Rita cos they were either too scary (oblivion), ages for the que (Rita) or we just didn't have time and we kept looking at it and going "It looks okay," *Scream from like everyone when it goes round a corner* "Yeah... moving on...". The Blade was funny cos some granny made me proper laugh cos she was sat there with her hands up and then when it went back down she put her hands on the bar.

Advice for everyone when you go, get in the singles ques, we saw the que for Sonic Spinball and thought we didn't have time but one of our mates came and said "Go in the singles que, x10 quicker" so we went in singles que and enjoyed the ride just as much :)
