Hey Hey Hey HxForum its Big Al' here! lol, jkjk

This is just a personal feedback thingy majigedy bob so no need to call the mods...

Basically, I was bored so I thought "Hey! why don't i do a show tonight @ 7pm where I have 1 half of request's & shout-outs & another half of likes & dislikes..."

when I say Likes & dislikes... I mean when I play 1 artist & then I play a similar artists and you guys tell me what you like and dislike about then, only that this show will have a twist!!!

What i plan to do is play 1 artist from my childhood then a similar artist from today's world! I'll give you two sets of artist's so that you have a better understanding of what I'm trying to say...

Aaron Carter VS Justin Bieber
Hilary Duff VS Selena Gomez

Get what I mean now??? If you want me to do this then select either YES or NO from the poll above. (I've never added a poll before so if it fails, i am sorry) also add a relevant/constructive comment below, so I can give you the lil +2 rep that I have :)

Thanks for reading this long mo' fo' & tell your friends about it too ;)

xoxoxo

I don't really see the point in doing it, but if you want to do it and it's your original idea then why not?

Most people like chart songs right? I'm not sure, however I don't tune into HxL (oh haha) so my opinion doesn't really effect.

it sounds too complicated like you probably won't get much in to your show? if it's one set of artist every week or whatever then that might work. if this is the only way you can play old songs then go for it, better than chart music
sorry if I misunderstood!

I think it's a fantastic idea but the only thing that will go wrong is that you're presenting to kids that love chart music and if you play any variety at all then they all moan and tune out.

Give it a try and let us know how it turns out though. :)

I understand,
It seems a good idea,
but in a way could be a little boring..
for example,
playing justin bieber then someone like justin Bieber - god that's too much for me.
but yes, ill tune in.

see the thing is, the audience just isn't there. i do a show called introducing which is all about new music and stuff that isn't mainstream and sure it drops listeners that want rihanna on repeat but i think those that do listen enjoy the change. it's whether you feel brave ;)

I think it's a great idea, the only downfall is that most people who tune in listen to chart music anyway? It's all they're into.

Good luck with anyway :)

You're dealing with young people, they generally don't like old(er) artists, so I can't say this will be successful with majority of listeners.
Personally I don't like modern songs, so I won't be tuning in.

But I guess, trial and error.
Go for it if you feel it will be a good show.

As someone who likes alternative music a lot more than chart music then yeah it's a good idea but like others have mentioned not sure how many will listen as the majority of people on here seem to be more into chat music.

I used to run something each week with my radio station when it was up playing new/un-heard of artists and it wasn't too bad. It would be nice to teach people some older music and maybe even turn some listeners into fans.

i am actually shocked... its a good turnout so far and i've dropped like 8 listeners which isn't as bad as i thought i would :)

EDIT: lol, they dropped more now that the mainstream stuff's on :S

I liked it!
I could only stay tuned just after Kylie Minougue was on so I never heard which one people thought was better :(
But yeah, Great idea, and I think it was a change to hearing constant mainstream stuff all the time!

thanks :D

nobody voted on that 1 :(

I think having new things are great but you need to make sure that a lot of planning goes into it as I know from the past that if things aren't prepared they will go wrong! - But yeh i'd give it a shot!

thanks, I have requested it as a weekly show, 'cause I enjoyed it & a few listeners told me they did too. I will plan new ideas for it every week if it does get accepted, so yeah... go me ;P

Wouldnt that mean you would have to "speak" after every single song? I can asure you if that were the case, well.. lets say majority of listeners these days don't like that.

I don't see the point in doing such shows.
Listeners enjoy listening to chart music and it's proven by their requests. They usually request songs they want to hear and not spamming the request box with songs by the same artists.
If you make a show like that, I wouldn't encourage it because listeners might just get bored and start to tune out. If I were one of the listener, I will tune out, tbh. Just saying

I think this could work but only if you like mixed it in with normal show stuff as well. You should just do 5 of these comparisons every 10 minutes so at like ??:10, ??:20, ??:30, ??:40 and ??:50 and then you could also mix a competition in. I think a variety would be better and you could also even steer away from just singers (although that's good cos you can play their songs), you could do actors and other famous people :D A possible name for the show could be "The Versus Show" just to clearly show that it's putting 2 things against each other. Hope this helps you out Lamar!

I think its a good idea, but I'm not to sure that the listeners will stay high from one genre all the way through the show
