Hey,

I know this has been suggested many many times but im hoping i can bring a new spotlight to this era of the shoutbox feature.

Obviously the shoutbox uses a lot of bandwidth and decreases the post counts of the forum, Although my idea was maybe every friday as a new donator feature it would allow them to have use of a shoutbox at the bottom of the forum.

I know around 1-2 years ago ---MAD--- baught a shoutbox (which was completely useless, unused and rubbish) this isn't the case, money wouldn't be used as theres hundreds on vBulletin.org.

Obviously as the shoutbox is used it would need moderation, people finish work on fridays (unless your unlucky and have to work saturdays and sundays) so obviously more people are online which means more and more moderation, This would possibly mean another Super mod would have to be hired but i can garantee this would increase the sales in donator, although the downfall is a percentage of this would have to go towards a better spec'd server.

Ideas?

The only problem is that it's against Habbo's Fansite Way to offer features, which I imagine would include an donator-exclusive chat box, to those who Donate :(.

Yeh but they offer different colour usernames so wouldn't it come under the same sort of guidance?

RossI think a GM said previously that Habbo said we could offer aesthetic privileges only, eg username colours and sigs/avatar features. I don't think a shout box would fit under the same category, and would be seen as more of a feature imo.

First of, did you get the idea from ClubHabbo? :P

But I do believe a shoutbox limited to a usergroup may be breaking the rules we have to follow. But as we have said many times before we do not want a shoutbox as it does indeed decrease the amount of posts on the actual forum and the last one back in the day was hardly used.

everytime we have a shoutbox no-one ever uses it, and it looks so ugly and i just don't understand the point of it.

We once used a shoutbox for a managers meeting like a year ago now, and i swear down i never want to see it again lol! You used to type and it's take like 5 seconds to display your message and it seemed to refresh at regular intervals, rather than just like a live stream of chat.

Obviously that could have just been an issue with the shoutbox we used tbh. But if you want to talk to people without posting, then there is msn or skype to do this, which all offer mass chat. It'll break the habbo way too as it's a feature we exchange for money. We could offer it to people with Forum VIP (as we give that free) but there is limited people with VIP and it wouldn't benefit Habbox in anyway. If it was for VIP only it would bring us no money, less posts and sap the bandwidth.
