When do shells expire?

i have a lot of shells left and i would like to ask when are they going expire??

I am only guessing and say when the shell quests finish it would probably be around 1-2 weeks to use them up before the gifts available to purchase using these shells are removed from the catalog.

They normally post a news article a few days before it ends which gives you warning. It happened with the hearts and flakes anyhow.
