Not too sure this is the correct section but anyways.

I want to start gym or lifting weights but i find it very hard to do it for long as ive broken both sides of my collar bone and it gets very uncomfortable and clicks when i workout and i physically feel rubbish whenever i try and do weights as i cant lift much for long.

would anyone be able to write a beginners guide for me?

You should never exercise if it hurts. Try experimenting with bodyweight exercises to see if that helps.

Don't push yourself too much, if your collar bone stars hurting, try doing half lifts, if it continues hurting then I would suggest to rest it for a few days before returning.

He was only saying don't do it if it hurts.

You'll never start out pumping heavy weights from the get go, start light and work your way up. You should probably get advice from your local GP about doing weights and different exercise as maybe this is something you can't do if you have broken your collar bone before.

Your best to use resistance machines, they support your body in aid of lifting - whereas free weights don't. Start with machines and if you feel comfortable use free weights.

Wut. Machines are essentially forcing your body into unnatural movement. With free weights you aren't putting any strain on your body to do unnatural movements as it's you that controls it.

thats sorta right and wrong true they dont allow the body to work naturally but they are way more supportive.
id say starting out + the fact you say you cant lift much for long to go with machines - they're easy to use, less intiimidating and you dont need a spotter which is key for your situation

But machines assist you, free weights all the pressure is on your arms etc.
