View Full Version : Why is the WWE sticky in the Sports section?
Shouldn't it be in TV & Film or Anime and other entertainment?

No argument intended.

I googled WWE and got this description from the official website;
WWE, the recognized leader in global sports-entertainment, featuring the unrivaled Superstars of the ring including John Cena, Randy Orton, Rey Mysterio and ...
It is a sport. :)
It's entertainment.
Noun: An activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others.

What is WWE? Womens washing entertainment?
It's sport. Sport is entertaining. You're wrong.

Wrestling requires athleticism and skill, but it’s still not a true competition. A wrestler like Triple H, The Undertaker or anyone else with a meaningless nickname is no more of an athlete than Jackie Chan — they’re all just pretending to fight.

You defined sport, not entertainment,
Wrestling involves "physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others."
I have no idea why you're singling it into one category.
Sure, it's scripted and involves acting.
But they are professional athletes and require years of and to this day, continuous training to be able to do it.
It's sports entertainment, not entertainment, not sport.
Sports Entertainment.
it is perfectly fine in the sports section ;)
Industry: Professional wrestling, sports entertainment
World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. (WWE) is a publicly-traded, privately-controlled integrated media (focusing in television, Internet, and live events) and sports entertainment company dealing primarily in professional wrestling, with major revenue sources also coming from film, music, product

They're not fighting. They're wrestling.
Professional wrestling (or pro wrestling) is a mode of spectacle, combining athletics and theatrical performance.
WWE is no more of a sport than Coronation Street, they are both based on acting. Acting is not a sport.

Not sure what reasons you have for hating wrestling so much, but you come across as an absolute fool. Looks to me like you've just signed up, had a go at people for watching wrestling and then made this thread to try getting a reaction. WWE, although not a competition sport as other forms of wrestling are, is a sport. The fact that it's based more on a person's ability to engage the crowd and put on a good show doesn't make it not a sport, it simply means that it's a different kind of sport - more akin to dance if you want to make comparisons

It is a sport, yet it is not a direct competitive sport. It's sportive entertainment.
It is defined by the media, the WWE as a company and broadcasters as a sport.
The WWE is an exhibition sport, in which there is no competitive value of any significant kind to any competitor regardless of the outcome of the competition.

I don't see what vendetta, or possible reason you could have to oppose WWE, and try to define it as a 'non sport'.

Because of the pain and misery it once brought to me. Finding out WWE was not real hurt me more than finding out Santa was not real.
But I'm glad in some ways that I was put out of my misery at such an early age. Otherwise I'd still be like half of you lot on here watching it every week, looking forward to the next fight between 2 specific fighters, playing with wrestling figures in my bedroom etc. That's why I thought I was doing you all a favour by telling you WWE is fake in your thread. I knew it was going to hurt you inside but it would of hurt more the longer it went on. You are obviously all still in denial, which is expected as you were all so passionate about it. WWE is such a horrible organisation doing this to people.

I actually thought you were up for a debate as to why WWE was in the sports section, instead you've clearly come on here to get a reaction.

Were not debating whether it's fake or not, but rather if it's in the right section, which it definitely is.

Of course my rep ain't gonna do anything. It was just to get the message to him. You never proved me wrong, acting is not a sport /thread.

For not being fat? hahaha. Who said anything about fat? Ever heard of a bit of muscle? Obviously not looking at your arms.

Muscle is disgusting, sorry to burst your primitive low-brow bubble. Still, who are you? You remind me somewhat of that kid who looked like Oscar the Grouch but with less brain

athletics & theatrical performances. not 'acting'. if you want acting, go watch coronation street.

I'm not anyone. I wouldn't have posted a pic of myself on here anyway.
I'm not talking huge muscles, just enough to make your body look different from that of a womans. Hang on a second, you like to dress up as woman don't you? Ah never mind then, your arms make your cross dressing more believable.
