Hey,
I have an interview for a course next week and I'm not sure what to expect, there is a lot of people on this forum and I'm sure at least one person have at least attempted the course, what should i expect? What careers could the degree lead to?

+19 to people who aren't ************.

Network manager. If possible try and get into the networking side of things and you'll make more money than you'll ever need.

Good freelance network managers can earn thousands of pounds for a few hours work if working for a big company.

What course? Is there an actual course called that? Either way, yeah Domain Administrator, Network Manager, Network Technician or Network Support Technician (LIKE MEE) you're bound to go into something cool. Think the guys who work at schools doing all the computer systems there, that's the kinda thing you wanna get into. Big bucks.

Cheers guys, i want some research also like i want to go in and make the examiners feel i know allot about the course, which i don't really, so any ideas? Anything to do with computers is my cup of tea.

Do you have any experience with Windows domains, *nix networking or supporting end users? That course sounds more like supporting end users to me rather than managing servers and building/maintaining networks.

And Network Managers don't get paid a huge amount, IT Consultancy is where it's at. If I were you I'd work your way into a university to do Computer Science some how and then specialise in Networking when you leave, which is my plan :P

Cheers pal,
I did kind of bad in my exams so what i might do is do that course which is two years i believe (if i get it) then when I'm a mature student (23) apply for colleges to do computing science.

Gonna be honest you're completely right about consultancy, my bosses are both IT consultants and the amount of money they earn... Just got 5 Dell poweredge r610 & 1 r510, as well as two fat-off powervault SANs with about 2TB x 12 in one and 600GB x 12 in the other at 15k write speed. They're like "LOL AND?", such mental money comes from that kinda stuff.

is it easy to pickup? I'm getting worried about being the thickest in my class and failing before I've even started.
