What should I charge for VIP?

Hi guys

Bascially when I get dedicated hosting for the server, we're planning on having VIP features (to help me pay for the server costs).

I would like your input on the idea of having VIP (more features) and perhaps VIP+ (more features again).

How much would you be willing to pay for VIP on a server? There are a lot of features that VIPs get that normal members don't (such as more interest, warping abilities, their own private towns, etc.)

And I'm unsure what VIP+ will be used for, but if you got more features again, what you think people should do in order to gain VIP+? (As in donate over a certain amount or stay VIP for a certain amount of time).

How would £2.50 sound to get VIP? How long should that VIP last? A month? 6 months? Forever?

I think it would have to be a low amount (with the option to pay more if you really want) because you're just starting out and as the many many minecraft servers we've seen come and go have proven, it may not last. Of course you and your users will be hoping this one will stick and be successful, but many people will be unwilling to invest in something that has no history unless it's a cost that they won't really notice. Doing it monthly is definitely a good idea, with annual "membership" coming in once you're a bit more established and 100% confident that it'll keep going for that long

Is it a city server by any chance? If it is then I would for sure because I love city servers. I think them prices are reasonable. Also, will there be a forum because that may benefit people to buy vip as well.

IMO, you shouldn't look at how much VIP will cost until you know how much the server is costing you and actually have a somewhat active community. Unfortunately it only takes a few people to ruin it for everyone.

I agree with this.

Atm I think the server is costing like £10, maybe a bit more a month. So meh.
