It looks great, £399 is better than £499, 4.9 hour for its battery is good i suppose and HD 250gb is great.. should be a good laptop for you.. it's pretty fast too with 4GB of ram :) it's way better spec than my rubbish HP Notebook laptop :)

If you're not gonna be doing anything except from writing up assignments and the usual stuff that laptops gonna be good. :)

If you're going to be doing anything more intense such as photoshop or the like you'd probably need a better processor. :)

That one looks good on paper, but I reckon that they've put large amount of low quality ram in it, with a decent processor and lots of gigabytes on a hard drive since price to gb cost is so low nowadays all so it looks good, but they'll have skimped on graphics, build quality, webcam, cooling etc.

Besides, you'll never use all that RAM, you wouldn't miss that extra 0.1Ghz of computing power and at least with fairly good graphics (Which you have on the HP) you'd be able to watch videos and not have it be very choppy.

Tbh mac book airs are better for uni, light weight and all, but if your on that type of budget it looks fine :)

For general use in Uni, using MS Word, surfing the internet, listening to music etc, it would be more than good enough.
Everything should run smoothly too.

5 words sum that up: Who the hell are zoostorm?

And you could get a lot more for your money in terms of that HP.

I suggest www.dell.co.uk

graphics are: Intel Graphics Intel HD Graphics 3000 graphics card with 1.7GB memory.
webcams standard 0.3MP (as is the one on this one)
RAM is DDR3 - and i know 8GB is a lot BUT this will have to last me through uni (3 maybe 4 years) and as computers progress the programs that are written will be written assuming a person has modern computing power - perhaps 8GB will become the standard in a few years, who knows?

i refuse to buy overpriced and under-specced apple laptops

i know but i doubt argos would stock a crappy manufacturer. i get a 10% discount at argos this week only and i dont think they stock dell (or only stock one) and obv a saving of £40 is a lot

Yes, i have a imac personally and i love it i don't think i'd ever go back to windows however if you've tried them and don't like them thats your personal opinion, so just get which one you like. By the looks of things all of the ones will do what you need to go :)
