Right this is just a small thing and this is pobably me being pedantic but how come when you get a new PM/have an unread PM then the icon is an open envelope? In some ways it's saying that this is already read if you get me? On the other hand once you have read it, it is a closed envelope suggesting it is unread? Just a little question and just wondering if it's just me who thinks it should be the other way round :P!

I suppose an open envelope is for it to stand out and show that it's ready for you to read it, and a closed one shows that you've read it and then closed the envelope :P! I can see what you mean though.

For some reason I believe it should be the other way round. In Microsoft Outlook 2010 new emails which are unread have a closed envelope and when you read emails they change to open envelope. Not sure why VBulletin did it this way though, hmm.

I personally think it kind of works either way :P. Although I think it would make more sense the with new PMs being closed envelopes rather than open ones.

Well I've never really thought about it until this thread was posted as I look at the subject rather than the PM icon :P.

Yea it's definitely not a major issue :P. I might look for a green icon so I know I've replied but whether the envelope is closed or open doesn't bother me. It's in bold when unread which is good enough for me :D.
