And considering hxbbo was an ex-official fansite, if it was classed as ripping it wouldn't of gained offiical status back in 2002.

There were no official fansites in 2002 either. The official fansites "scheme" started when Callie was Hotel Manager which obviously wasn't 2002.

The domain has since expired and been renewed, and if it won't 2002, it was 2003 then (It was deffo one of them years), as it was one of the first to gain official.

Depends where it is hosted. You do not need to purchase copyright in the UK, the moment an idea has entered your mind and you have proof of time, name and use it's copyrighted. Proof of purchases for example on names, pronunciation etc. all proof of copyright. It's only the US system I think that forces you to buy the rights to your own work - but that's capitalism for you :P

Does it need pronouncing? It could be pronounced Habbo to silence or substitute an 'x' for an 'a'. It's quite a creative name, but it's shame that's as far as the creativeness goes. It could even be Hexbo, but that would be a bit odd :P
