Was just thinking wouldn't it be neat if everyone got VIP for their birthdays. Obviously only for the day, perhaps they could also get some kind of birthday user title or a special birthday colour vip?

It would be cute, but not sure how they could implement. Can it be done automatically? Also, members could change their birthday so they can get VIP to check who has repped and what not - assuming it's automated.

Can you freely change your birthday in your profile? I figured the only way this could happen would be if it could be automated if it could be automated surely they can take away the option of changing your birthday on your profile, if there is one?

It most likely could be done via cron tasks but its a long job, doubt its worth it.
Bored members would also change their bday's daily.

The problem I see with it is watching for people who change their birthday to get even more free VIP. It's a very easy thing to change and all they have to do is go to User CP > Edit Profile.

Rather than giving them VIP, maybe just an icon next to their name or something - I'm sure they wouldn't keep changing their birthday just for that :P. Unless they've chosen to hide their birthday ofc.

Oof , HFFM :(
By the way just give them 2 rep blocks or +10 rep points? Whenever they get their REAL bday?

Urgh, don't award them with things in the rep system. Rep needs to be earned, not given freely for trivial things :P
No one has answer Cwmbran's suggestion of disabling the birthday settings, so once you're registered with one birthday you have to stick by it or get an admin to change it. It's one way to tackle it, and I'm fairly certain forums come witha disable button - or IP.Boards do at least :P

Again i'm pretty sure you could take away the option to change your birthday as gomme said just make the users have the birthday they signed up with.

I think VIP would be best if youre a user that hasnt had VIP before because you can't afford it or never win a competition then its a nice lil present. If they've chosen to hide their birthday then they can either miss out on the VIP as to not reveal their birthday.

No idea what so ever.
I bought up the idea of something birthday related like 2 years ago and reminded them a year ago. Both nvrspk4 and oli said they'd implement the idea but never happened a la habbox style
but I like the idea of recognising it by a user bar, dats cute.
a little flashing cake or present by the online now icon would be so sweet! n'aww.
and yeah getting rid of the option to change yr dob shouldn't be an issue to anyone. it's not like yr birthday changes :S

or a balloon. Like with the world cup donator where it had a flag next to the name
you should make their posts a different colour for the whole day

I don't think people would abuse the system for little image next to their name, so I like this idea. :D

But anyone can change the colour.....

I kinda remember that on sign up you get encouraged to use a different DOB so your habbo account doesn't get haxxed.
Also I think people were asking at one point for active account's birthdays to be displayed on the homepage, did anything come of this?

lol don't be silly, my dob isn't going public. No matter if Habbox said it is. I'll make sure mine doesnt

It's up to the user if they wish to display their birthday or not. I don't think we should force them to be displayed.

Oh, this idea sound really amazing.
It would be a good surprise for everyone who celebrate their birthday.
Especially in my case where my family never celebrate birthday. :(

I was replying to the other guys post, but I don't think everyone has a birthday on the actual forum itself. It isn't a required piece of information during the sign up process.
