Best Weapon For Melee Levelling?

Just came back to RS looking to see what is the best melee weap for training can be att or str or controlled :)

When i left Abby Whip was the best thing about

If money is no object whats the best weapon, and if 10M is a budget whats the best?

Whip for Att + Def

Sara sword for Strengh.


Dont have Rapier, but im pretty sure it would be 'above' whip in one of those, maybe someone who has one can shred some light on that :P.

non degradeable would be sara sword for stength and whip+ddef for att/def

otherwise, rapier trumps all

I wouldn't train with a rapier since they last 10 hours in combat.
Costing 2m to recharge, that would burn a hole in your bank if you wanted to get max melee with a rapier or any chaotic!

what about full d'haroks (low hp) on monkey's on ape atroll. That's some really great strength experiance! Atleast better than the exp you get with a SS

It's not better than a SS or equivalent on other monsters and monkey guards don't drop anything.

Cheers guys, if its same speed as whip probs gonna go with Sara Sword :) see how i get on can always swap if it doesnt go well :)

Yes what Niels says is completely true, if you don't have access to armoured zombies which reach the 100k/hour xp lines, for strength dharoking the monkeys at ape atoll are very fast. Whip is the same speed as saradomin sword and same strength just two handed, rapier is the same speed also and alot stronger, it would be worth spending 2m on the rapier every 10 hours as the benefits of the combat training would mean new access to areas to make better cash sums daily.

A rapier requires 80 dung and 200k tokens (which you get from 1-80 dung).
80 dung will probably take about 1 week though...

Whats realistic? How hard is it to train up?

Realistically, it'll take you anywhere from 2 weeks to a month to get 80 depending on how much time you put into it and how good your teams are. Worth it, though! Just do a few dungeons with friends or whatever every couple of days and it'll feel like less of a grind.
