Do small business's use to stop their staff from going on sites such as facebook etc?
In other words to monitor there whereabouts?

At school I use Microsoft Forefront with the Web Protection licensing for our basic filtering, which isn't free, but then we use Ubuntu Server running Squid and Dansguardian for secondary filtering (which you could use on it's own if you wanted) which we have blacklists from urlblacklist.com and is set to generate HTML based log files each night at 11:45pm.

At work I block sites via the router, it has logs of any computer trying to access a blocked site, and also keeps logs of sites accessed, handy when we are only a small company.
