View Full Version : HMV = No Refund?

Hi, I recently purchased a game (Sims 2) for P.C from HMV

After I installed it I started playing the game. Everything was fine until after I chose what neighborhood to play on I got a pop message saying something about a corrupt disk error. This happens every time now. A pop up message appears and when I click 'O.K', it just ends the game.

I'm going into town again tomorrow to take it back. I have heard several stories where HMV do not do a full refund on faulty items, only exchanging them can be arranged.

Has anyone had a problem with taking a faulty item back to HMV?

Also, isn't it the law where the consumer HAS to refund the full amount that was paid for if the item is faulty and the buyer has a valid receipt of proof?

Thanks for the help.

The Fact They Wnt Do It Is Because:

The Sims 2 Is A PC Game And There Very Easy To Re-Write And Make Copys Of So They Won't Take Them Back, Arrange To See The Manager Of The Store, Maybe He Can Give You Another Copy Of The Game, But You Won't Get Your m|oney Back.

yes i think you should be able to take it back, if not i would try to go higher up in the chain... maybe email the maker of the game?

Just exchange the copy for another one.
