Heyy :)

I am looking to start developing apps for an OS, however cannot decide which OS would be best to target?

Really I would be looking at; Android, iOS or Windows 8.

Just wondering, which one do you think would be worth trying to get in to and targeting?

Cheers

I would recommend the Apple market seeing iOS is a huge market for gaming applications where i see more matured people choose the android phones for the office stability

If you're in it for money, iOS. If not, Android.

At first, I wouldn't be too paniced about money, but obviously my final aim would be to cash in!

There are a variety of languages you can use to create applications for Windows, however for Android development you need to know Java and for iOS development you need to know Objective-C.

I would develop Windows 8, as it is not out yet your app have time to develop until the App Store opens on the real version of the OS not on the Developer Preview.

Quite a big downside to developing for iOS, is Apple's demand you do it on a Mac - not that they literally say this, but it seems somewhat more difficult to develop on a Windows machine.

I agree, it makes more sense to develop iOS apps on an Apple machine whereas Windows OS is much easier to get hold of on any computer.

Very, you can do it on just about any machine because it's all java based.

MonoTouch (http://ios.xamarin.com/) could be useful.

Please note that MonoTouch requires a Mac lol

Oh yes. I forgot about that. I was considering using it so I didn't have to learn Obj-C.

Haha, might look at getting a Mac soon anyway, although I won't until I learn Objective-C..

Won't bother until the next refresh anyway.

Well I actually bought a Mac Mini to develop Mac and iOS applications. Haven't done so well so far though. :P
