Do you think that it should always be the Guy who asks the Girl out or should it be optional? -- I feel that it's quite pressured that the guy needs to ask the girl out.

I didn't even know it was expected that the guy asks the girl out :S I'm used to it being the girl, or she drops so many hints that it's uncomfortable for both of them so the guy asks her out just to shut her up.

One rule I know is that playing the bedroom limbo on a first date is not to be expected, and if it does happen you've probably picked up a hussy.

There are no rules, just go for it unless you're a munter in which case you'll prob make a fool of yourself

I suppose it's the "social norm" for the guy to ask the girl out, but girls do it as well, or just both come to a mutual agreement of "yeah, okay, we'll go out"

I think it can be done by either really! I think it tends to be the guy asking the girl out, but that's just something which seems to have happened, and I think girls do it too and there should be no set rule as to which it is. Sometimes things are done more gradually and the magic happens by itself and then its basically just both sides confirming it etc.

ofc if you are gay then the question becomes difficult since there is no girl!

i don't listen to that crap, i don't believe guys should make the first move either. or maybe that's my problem. i don't like it when people ask you out, #1 it takes away your freedom (A) #2 it's childish. i remember at school you would get asked out by someone through their friends....
with my ex we were messing around when my friend who introduced us asked if we were going out yet (WHAT DOES THAT EVEN MEAN? NOT LIKE THEY EVER TAKE YOU OUT ANYWHERE omg) and he said "yeah if she wants". i don't even know how it works for everyone else cause my friend's literally **** someone, 'see' them, date them cause they feel they have to, then finish with them. i don't think people even ask each other out anymore, it's either you get with them and decide if you want to be together/be friends with benefits/forget about it or if he sends you a relationship request on fbook!!! haha joke though i bet that actually happens
usually i wait until they refer to me as their girlfriend before i tell other people we're ~dating~ butttt one thing i learnt is if you want a relationship with someone make it clear before you get with them. that way you won't be stuck in the 'are we going anywhere with this or am i just a bootycall' situation or you won't have one person falling in luv with the other when they're not interested. not that this has ever happened with me, obviously!!

oops i went off topic but around here no1 asks each other out, not that i'm aware of but for me personally i don't really care who makes the first move. i prefer when i do though... but maybe guys like to be the one that does?

how old are you?
in england, most relationships develop over time anyway, so by the time you officially ask someone out, you should be pretty certain they're going to say yes, although it should be the boy.
idk about in the states because don't you like ask them on a date and then go from there?

I know one thing for sure. Be confident and don't go on with 'uhm ahm erm' ... etc.etc

Well, me and my boyfriend have been together 6 months today and I honestly can't say I remember how we began going out. We began getting feelings for eachother and we admitted we liked each other and that was that I think. We were together from then on!

However, I remember with my first boyfriend he asked me out over bebo but it wasn't really asking me out as he said 'would you ever go out with me' and I said yes, not realising that he meant 'will you go out with me' so I feel the whole asking out thing isn't true.
However, in one case my ex said 'well ask the question and you'll get an answer' so he basically wanted me to ask him out and not vice versa.

I think it's different for everyone.
