I'll go when I'm 18 in 2 years, assuming I'm into games and have some people to go with :P I take it from what you said that you're going again?

Yup, unfortunately I could only get 2 press passes :/ so another of my mates who wanted to come is having to find another solution.

Who are you press with? That sentence doesn't make much sense but I cba to reword it.

Only a potential games blog. Not an up and running one. Will be documenting the event either way.

Ahh well be sure to post on anything interesting :P I guess you're going for the average games on the most part? MW3/BF3/Skyrim/Uncharted etc.

I'll be there on the Sunday, living in the Skyrim booth, will also be checking out Playstation Vita now I have my fast track pass for it, looking forward to it though, hopefully I can pick up some posters and stuff.

I'd love to go to a convention but I'm not patient enought to stand in line for hours to play about ten minutes worth of a game

Last year it was rather casual, not many lines at all.

Hopefully that's the case this year, I really want to get on Skyrim, TOR, Saints Row 3, Guild Wars 2 and Battlefield 3, maybe check some of the less important games out as well. xD

Where did you get a fast track pass for psvita? Maybe i'll go there first before a queue builds up once the early entry hour is up.

By doing some thing on facebook, not sure if you can still do it or not though as it was a random draw type thing.

Just got back, it was amazing! So much free stuff - including a free onlive console that came with a copy of PC Gamer magazine!
And to top it all off, the eurogamer staff were giving away free packets of doritos at the end! As many as you could carry!

I just got back, didn't get tons of Doritos and an OnLive console but I did get some Saints Row 3 sun glasses and a bobble head, that's good enough for me, got to try a load of things I've been looking forward too, although some thing I decided to let my girlfriend play instead.

I played;

Rage
Skyrim
Saints Row 3
Battlefield 3
Track Mania 2
Playstation Vita on Sound Shapes or something, you didn't get to choose I just got lucky I guess...

I watched my girlfriend play Batman Arkham City and Guild Wars 2, while having to constantly help her throughout, overall it was an amazing experience, I think the biggest surprise for me was Rage, I didn't think much of it but after playing it I'm not a believer, the game is brilliant.

Of course that's not all I did, I checked out other games as well, MW3 looks alright but I didn't want to play that, The Old Republic doesn't really seem like I'd be interested but the queue was longer than Guild Wars 2 so it probably had something to it, some other games were quite good looking but I feel I played the best ones, although Guild Wars 2 is certainly something I'll need to be checking out.

Did you not bother queuing for an onlive console? For me it only took about half an hour.

I played:
Uncharted 3 (3D)
PSVita: Little Big Planet
MW3
Battlefield 3 singleplayer demo
Battlefield 3 multiplayer
Onlive DiRT 3
RAGE - also got a signed copy of the game cover
Trackmania Canyons
Quick play of the 3DS, filmed it for a while too
(Plus another couple I've probably forgotten about)

Freebies I aquired:
Bobblehead
Onlive System
PC Gamer Magazine
Energy drink that looked like piss
2x Yoyo
12x Packets of Doritos
T-Shirt
MW3 Poster
DiRT 3 Poster
Advertisements

I ate:
Hotdog (£4)
Pizza (American) (£6.80)
Mars Bar (£0.70)

Total spent inside: £12.50
Potential profit if selling onlive system: £40+
Conclusion: Epic Win.

Na I couldn't be bothered, it was like a 3 hour line, they kept having to stop people joining because it go so big, I couldn't be bothered with it really, I didn't realise they had BF3 single player, they had co-op and versus today so maybe they change it or something, I also had a quick go on the 3DS but I hate them so I didn't play long, it was some Zelda game.

I dont think you realise they give out ONlive consoles for free because it's a subscription. I've known about Onlive for almost 2 years now and tried to aquire one but at that point in time they were only giving out in America. If Onlive has reached the Uk market than free consoles will be given out soon on their website and honestly i cant wait, it looks amazing :)

Back on topic i was dissapointed i missed this year (after going last year) but i couldn't help that as i was moving into Uni that weekend hehe.

I think the point was trying to get one for free so we can sell them on for £50 later on, that's the only reason I wanted to get one anyway, I don't ever plan on switching to "cloud gaming".

Sort of off-topic, but OnLive is so stupid. I know obviously it streams the game through the internet to your TV, but I think it's just very odd that they preach about doing away with console gaming, and then offer a console.
Plus I have no idea what sort of connection you have to have to run OnLive, but I have a normal 8MB connection and it can't even load up the main 'dashboard' without it being terribly pixely and giving me connection errors.

They offer a device to play it through your TV with a controller, it is a free download on the PC.

I'm on 8MB and it plays fine, heck you only need about 5MB connection to play smooth.

Shame I only get around 1.2mbps... Though fibre optic is literally being fitted into my box now lol. But really onlive doesn't appeal to me at all as I much prefer physical media. Tbh they're just getting a head start on what current consoles will eventually be once the larger markets have a suitable speed.
