The Kindle Fire is an interesting case. It's an Android tablet yet there's little acknowledgement for the OS. It's literally hijacking Android with heavy modifications :P Apparently Android Market has been heavily altered to only include apps for Android 2.3 and for ones that work for the device. Many of the default apps like email and browser have changed too. Interesting none-the-less :P The new mini-Kindle looks good too, and affordable :)

In my own opinion I would never buy a Kindle because I think they're pretty useless these days.

There's the Nook instead, which can be hacked to run a full Cyanogen Android rom, and (here atleast) you can still pick up HP touchpads for less money than a Kindle :P

For books I don't want a coloured screen :P

What about the Kindle Fire then? It runs on Android, could be hacked in the future. It has a cheap price tag.

Would be a good contestant against the Nook and other entry level Android tablets, glad to see the traditional non Android Kindles with non coloured screens fade into the dusk.

Hardly going into the dusk when they brought our new models. There are reasons why the screens were black and white in the first place.

I'm not necessarily sure what you're saying, but I was just saying I'm glad to see coloured Nooks, because I wasn't a fan of black and white :P

I thought you was implying that they should of never done non-coloured screens, Amazon that is. But fair enough.
