Conker Kill streak?

It's Autumn, season of Conkers and I was just wondering if you guys have ever had any particular conkers that you held dear to your heart when you were younger, perhaps ones that won a lot of fights or perhaps ones that just looked cool. I've soaked mine in vinegar (yes, I only have one), and painted it with clear nail varnish in order to make it hard. Tell me some tricks you did (besides putting it in the oven, I already know about that one)! :)

a great conker is one that has been stored in a dry place for at least a year.

A perfect cylindrical hole will make it harder.

Bake it then soak it in vinegar for ultimate strength.

Somehow carve 5-6mm of its innards out and fill with liquid latex.
