Hello,

yeah so I had a tooth removed today, not a nice thing to go through however it was either that or root canal... I would rather lose a tooth and have it drilled though lol...

Anybody else had extraction/root canal?

Overall with the dentist/hospital I've had 7 big teeth extracted. I had 2 Crowns but they broke, then I went to the hospital to remove the crown root things from my mouth and had my other tooth out so i have 3 on a palatte now! However, I agree I would rather have it out as if I hadn't have had mine out and had another crown they would have fell out really quickly!

Yep, I had 2 out last October so that I could have my braces on in November. Wasn't nice at the time but its all worth it!

eurgh i'm getting mine pulled out next week and I had the same choice as you, have it pulled or root canal. Its because my tooth has become infect and the nerves have died and i've had abscess after abscess on it (4 in total)! And i would need a tooth taken out anyway for braces because i have to many on my lower jaw

I had a tooth taken out when I was 10 and it was the most painful thing I've ever been through, even with anaesthetic.

i don't take well to the anaestetics they use. so I had numbing gel and three jags. but still could feel everything so i had root canal without proper numbness. i was just too impatient.

it was a regret, i went back the next week and told her no more root canal just whip it out. and that took 50 minutes!

The biggest piece of work I've had done is when the dentist helped to get my two front baby teeth out when the adult ones were coming through. It was just a quick job though tbh.

Other than that, I've had nothing out and I haven't had braces or anything... touch wood! :)

I hate how they take them out your mouth. Couple of years ago I had 4 out whilst awake and they like stuck a pole in my tooth (which made a cracking sound) and yanked it out. And a few years before that I had an operation on my mouth to sort a tooth out as one was growing out my gum. God I sound like a wierdo.

It was horrible the pulling. The needles where fine didnt bother me too much it was the pressure of the extraction! :S

I can't say I have. I really love my teeth I'd rather break a bone than loose a tooth or damage any of my teeth

Never had a tooth out, doesn't sound like a pleasant experience however so I hope I never need one out!

In one go i had my four back teeth removed under anaesthetic including i had to have part of my gum removed the top right of my mouth to let another tooth come down, quite painful when i woke up but hey. Then i've recently had another 2 teeth taken out which was horrible not being under anaesthetic. But i'm glad i've had it done now though, i'm near the end of having my braces on for god knows how long. I actually cannot wait to get them removed, i can't even remember what i looked like without braces as it's been so long.

Never had any teeth taken out but it sounds painful. My brother has and he said it hurts like hell.

I've had a few out, luckily they did it all at once and I was under general anaesthetic, didn't feel a thing :8
