You have held this role for a very long time and done so much for Habbox over the years in so many various departments. You are such a friendly and caring person and you've just been lovely to get to know and work with. You were absolutely amazing at the role and everything flowed so well and the department has always been ran perfectly. Thanks for everything you have done and good luck with the future!! :'(It has been amazing working with you, and I am very greatful that I have become friends with you and I will always talk to you no matter what!! Right firstly I hate you Martin.

Thank you for all your work over the last 2 years (and more) as Competitions Manager and even more so as Competitions Staff, Events Organiser, HxHD Staff, Articles Staff, News Reporter and whatever else :D

You have been a true asset to Habbox and you know I think that. You have been a true friend to me, afterall the closest friends are meant to be mean to each other, right? (shifty eyes) Whilst you procrastinate like mad, just like me, anyone who worked in the competitions department as you as the manager couldn't say that you were awful. Your heart was set there when I was in the department (why wouldn't it be ;)) and your dedication hasn't dropped since. I should have written this "next month" but hey ho!

Lol I'm out of practice writing long posts, obviously with no good reason to carry on, I just like blagging it. :P I've just been out so I won't embarrass you with a load of competition related jokes. Instead I'll quote something you wrote in my thread:


At the beginning, management would have been a nightmare, especially a small department like competitions that was struggling to reinvent itself but with patience, care and attention that you gave it, I think (maybe I'm biased) that we've made it into a brilliant department with a nice atmosphere to work under. After a while, we just got into our routine. I'd add the prizes, you'd move the comps and do the announcement and it just seemed to work.

Meh well I still agree with that. Although it's been over 6 months since I've been working with you, somehow it seems to have gone to another strength (;)) and it's all down to you. You're the rock of the department and with all due respect to Luke, he's going to have to work his socks off to get it anywhere close to the standard of your work, and whilst I'm confident he will be able to, it's going to be some big boots to fill (and you tell me you're slim!)

You're a hard working, genuine, funny guy who bullies me in any situation possible. But I don't care as you're someone who I won't forget- as I said, you were the rock to the department. In October 2010 you got something like 75 entries, yet it was up to 10 times higher a couple of years later. Well done and you are not saying goodbye to me for a very long time or else I will make your life a living hell (more than already, anyway)

P.S. I use brackets too much and wrongly, oh well.

You've been the competitions manager for as long as I can remember and you've certainly done an amazing job at it, and it's clear that you've set a high standard now for me to reach! He's completely revitalised the way it's run whilst providing us with absolutely loads of new competitions, decent prizes, dozens of new ideas and a wealth of knowledge. Oh, and a fair amount of humour which we come to expect as standard from any form of competitions staff.

I've often thought about who I genuinely regard as a friend on Habbox. Can you call someone from online your friend? What's the boundary? Is it acceptable in a modern society? Well, I think I daresay that I really do regard Mike as a true friend; perhaps that stems from his likeness to Alex3213 who I latched on to a few years ago. Best of luck in life Mike, and I hope to goodness we stay in touch and you don't just wander off...! :P xo

This is spot on, the competitions department was awful and during his management it became one of, if not the most popular, most well run department on Habbox. That's not to say it was perfect, nothing is! Although you can not fault the effort and the dedication that Mike put into the Competitions Department, possibly one of the hardest working managers that worked for Habbox during my time in General Management. It's sad when good members of staff aren't promoted to General Management because the department they run would collapse without them, so I wish whoever takes on the competitions department luck as it's going to be a heck of a task to keep up what Mike's done over the past 2 years or so.

I do not lie when I say this, but Mike is one of the very best department managers this place has seen, he has proved he has been such a success - they held onto him for 2 years!!! I've never had the privilege of writing a big long resignation essay because I'm usually dragged out kicking and screaming so it'll be fun to give it a go. I have had an amazing time as manager with lots of ups and a few downers. Recently however it's started becoming a case of going through the motions so I decided to leave and let someone with a fresh perspective on things take over.

It is very nice that people are saying I rebuilt the department but that is not the case. I would not have been able to do anything without the many members of staff both past and present. Habbox has the most talented staff compared to any other fansite I've worked at and it's been amazing to work with so many different people who have all brought something new to the department. Thank you to Alex who showed me what you can achieve when you work together (literally, he posted a thread about it, saddo). Thank you to Roxy and Martin (and very briefly rosie), very good AGMs who, despite a few arguments here and there, know what they're talking about.

Yeah, all I can really say is that Mike was an awesome manager. He did a fab job, he stuck to his rules, kept the staff happy and generally kept the department running well. - proven by dept of the year, just saying.
