Things that make you cringe!

Now from when I can remember whenever someone scrapes a plate with their cutlery it bloody sends shivers around my body and makes me get goosebumps. Even thinking about it causes it, I tend to just cover my ears so I can't hear it! I also know someone at school and it happens to them when they touched this silky material. Does anyone have their own thing that causes this or is this just me :O

It used to happen when someone used to use chalk on a chalk board. It also used to happen in metal work in high school when we had to file metal (had this for about a term, it nearly killed me I swear!)

Omg, when teachers write on the white board and it screeches its just like kdfhgjksdhf! and when someones banging around with plates and washing up it just makes me shiver all around my body :(

I have a few things, Chalk on boards and just chalk in general. I hate the sounds of cotton wool when it get stretched and also like polystyrene chip boxes, when people touch them there is a wacko noise that sends me insane.

I don't mean cringe as in embarrassment but as in something actually physically making you cringe. Perhaps cringe is not the right word to be using but I'm too tired to think so cringe is the word.


I hate the noise of pencils, markers and especially broken pencils being scrapped on paper (I'm actually cringing now)
I hate the feel of cardboard which is horrible because I work in a factory packaging items into boxes
I hate the noise of people cracking their fingers
I hate licking envelopes

I'm sure other things make me cringe but i can't think of them right now. Anyone got any weird things that make them cringe like i do and if you do, do you know how to stop cringing when someone does it?

When I was younger I had a friend who could bite into ice lollies, it made me cringe sooooo much when I saw her biting them :S Things like hammers smashing into things make me cringe too. Nails on a chalkboard don't really make me cringe it's funny when people cringe at it though. :P

Washing up. All those little soggy crumbs and the smell... ugh. I hate it so much. And when people bite their nails in public. Do that **** in private, it's disgusting. Also dribbling and people who spit and just phlegm and liquid from the mouth in general. I couldn't wear one of those gum sheilds when we played rugby in school. I just couldn't do it. All the horrible wetness that builds up in them is just aghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. I'm cringing just thinking about it.

Also, perhaps not cringeworthy but highly irritating, people who periodically chew gum and those who constantly chew even though they've got nothing in their mouth. This old woman was sat in front of me on the train the other week, she whipped out some gum and started chewing like mad. Out of the corner of my eye I could just see her jaw going crazy. I was seriously fuming inside.

OH and people who spit when they speak UUUGHHJHHHGHHKJFHEUFHSEF and people who are constantly sniffing when they have a cold. JUST BLOW YOUR NOSE. UGH. A lot of stuff makes me cringe.

Metal scraping against other metal.

Omg, it's so argghhh when it happens - when someone scoops something out of a metal saucepan with a spoon or fork, my ears just like die, it's so horrible D: Cutlery on plates don't affect me though.
