I want to get one of these, just wondering what everyone thinks of them. All I will be using it for is browsing the net IN BED because it's cold in the winter and I don't want to be sat the computer like last year BRRRRR. I'll only be using it for social networking, HxF and I'll probably do some college work on it aswell (word documents). It's cheap and they're well fit. I don't wanna spend £500 on a mac though cos I'll only be using this for the bare minimum. This is only £199!

So, for what I want to be able to do, is it a good choice? Or am I going to encounter loads of horrible problems? Thanks

SO FAR: I've been advised that it'd be wise to buy another GB of memory. Not expensive so it's nothing too bad

Thanks for that advice, +REP

So yeah, I've been told they're fantastic if a little low on memory. So I should be happy, yeah? I'm gonna buy some more memory

For what you are wanting to do it looks fine, but dont expect to do anymore than what you've listed. :P Also check the reviews as that will have customer feedback!

I've looked at the reviews and I've come to the conclusion that because of it's painfully small memory, the day I get it I think I'm going to have the RAM upgraded from 1GB to 2GB - maybe even 4GB. I'm told it'll make it much more capable :D

Yeah If I was going to buy it I would stick another GB in at least! :P

4 would be good, 2 if you want the damn thing to run more than one application at a time. :L Is there not any with 2 built in?

Nope. Wikipedia says it comes with 1GB, but it can accept up to 4GB?

Crucial says 2GB max: http://www.crucial.com/uk/store/listparts.aspx?model=Aspire%20One%20%28522%29&Cat=RAM

Thats if I've selected the right model and stuff.

I think that will be enough for what I will be using it for, happy with that! Cheers Matt :)
