Has anyone been interested in or following this game?

A lot of people have called it another WoW clone with different skins.

I'm probably breaking the EULA but the game has potential. (Beta, ends in 2 days anyway)

It feels like your ordinary MMO, with skills, leveling and loot, though there are the slight things that Bioware have taken into account that give it a slight edge.

One.
It's Star Wars, who wouldn't want to play as a Jedi or Sith running around slashing people up.

Two.
Mass Effect, story driven MMO. That's the best way to describe it. Anyone who has played Mass Effect, the entire Dialogue system and alignment is integrated into this TOR. Your still leads you in the general path of the story, though your alignment will present different situations to you.

Three.
Quests have meanings! I finally found an MMO where it feels as though you are collecting items or killing a mob for a reason, the interactive dialogue is the key here. The time of reading text as quests will surely be overwhelmed by this immersed style of gaming.

I could write on and on about the game, but I'll leave you with these thoughts for now and will answer any questions that you may have about it.

Yeah it's released on the 22nd of december in the UK might get it, not sure yet i heard its good from people i know thats got to play the beta version but time will tell. Rift was hyped like this and look and that.. lol

i'm not really a hardcore gamer but my love for star wars is what will make me fail my a levels to play this game

Been playing it a bit today and yesterday, it's pretty much WoW mixed with Mass Effect, I don't really think this is going to change MMOs honestly but it is a nice change from having really linear paths, it's certainly a good game - no doubt about that but the only thing selling it for me is the freedom you have and that alone doesn't justify £9 a month.. I'll be waiting for Guild Wars 2 personally but I imagine this will follow the recent "freemium MMO" trend after a year or so anyway, I'll check into it then.

Got my pre-order in yesterday, hoping I'll be able to play tomorrow.

I'm looking forward to it. I've been needing a new MMO to play (WoW's gotten a bit sour), and I mean, it's BioWare. Come on. They can't possibly screw this up.

Rofl, just woke up and logged in.

The server that was empty during the early access is now full and I'm in aqueue of 200.

Probably because it's just been released to everyone else. Might die down a bit later.

I want to get this but the subscription fees are a turn off. When I tried to get into WoW I was too busy thinking if it was worth the money, which led to me dropping my subscription.

This game is worth the fees.
After being a WoW player myself for 5 nearly 6 years, making the change has been awesome its a fresh approach to MMO's and has alot of shiny new things to keep you entertained. I doubted trying it at first but I'm glad I did now.

However could you explain why is it a fresh approach? I've heard some people saying it's basically wow in space?

The game actually has a proper storyline for whatever class you choose, which for an MMO I think is incredible. I've actually been playing it as a Single Player game and treating it as a Knights of the Old Republic 3 substitute. Although, I have heard that there's not much to do after you have reached level 50 and completed the storyline.

I LOVE this game. Not sure if I like WoW or SWTOR more though...I will have to wait until end game since that is where I and everyone else will spend most of their play time.

Level 26 SithAssassin. I would be higher but i've been busy with other games :p

Nice, but i'm exclusively on the empire side atm unfortunately.

Level 19 Bounty hunter, have been in school a lot so have had very little time to play.

It may very well be. While i am enjoying this game a good bit, there is a lot of bugs in it still.
