Tbh, Countries like that are never going to fully rebuild themselves - Japan is near like.. 4 'plates' so it's very prone to earthquakes and in-effect Tsunamis.

But, Japan is quite an advanced country - so hopefully it should get back up on its feet soon ^_^

Amazing photos, especially the ones of boats and other vessels sitting in the middle of fields still to be moved, but with clean fields and removed buildings around them. In the first photo, was the van that remains one the photographer uses? It's odd seeing it in all three photos looking clean and untouched :P

I feel sorrow but also amazement at the people involved - it can't be nice cleaning up debris knowing that underneath it could be a body. Chilling thought.

yeah, i've gotta say that they've recovered quite well considering it's only been 6 months - definitely when you compare it to other places that had other natural disasters.

They are amazing photos and you can clearly see there has been a huge improvement considered how bad it was. It does take a long time but they will get there eventually.

Imagine this country attempting that, five years later still the same with dozens of health and safety studies taken out along with enviromental checks. But good on Japan, a hardworking country which never allows itself to wallow in self-pity.

Recovered a lot and it looks better now after a major earthquake like that.

They are working on ways to make building earthquake proof so they might get back to normal if they get something that works.

Hopefully they do, imagine how many countries that would help ^_^

Those are amazing photos - and it's amazing what they've rebuilt in just 6 months. It looks so much cleaner and it looks habitable! There's even a car shop re-opened?

To put into the perspective the speed at which they are re-building:

http://www.good.is/post/earthquake-ravaged-japanese-highway-rebuilt-in-three-short-days/

They quickly rebuilt highways in 3 short days :P If only roads could be built that quickly in this country, it would save a lot of hassle over the M25 :P

I felt sorry for them. But they built it back fast!
