I think many of the old players quit as they just don't like the changes.
People do move on, as they find something better. :P
People move on all the time though. It's life, it happens.

I only played for the people. As soon as everyone I knew on there left, so did I. Plus it has changed so much these days, I find it is just overly complicated and completely unenjoyable now.

People come and go all the time. Ive left games in the past and gone back to them so many times I've lost count! its the same with anything though really, everyone moves on.

Tell me about it. It all changed for me when we got the new clothes, it was either 07 or 08. I was SO excited about that update and when it happened it was amazing! If someone can find that update that'd be cool btw ;) After that happened, updates started coming thick and fast, the console changed, private messaging changed and all this unecesasry furni started appearing.

Rares aren't that special anymore. It used to be norms, seasonals, rares and super rares. And there was the new rare that came out once a month that everyone buzzed about. It should have remained that way. But I suppose, to increase profit, they wanted to churn out loaaads of furni.

I haven't played since 09 and I won't play again. It's a completely different game. I would for them to have a Habbo Classic a la Runescape, that would be awesome :D

Wow, I feel so nostalgic right now.

I used to love sounds when you logged in and the little sounds the old console used to make :D

OMG AND FUNKY FRIDAY THAT WAS SO GOOD. And everyone hating Jibbi 'til she left and then everyone hating Callie til she left and when I got my first Throne :D

The hallway riots, the mafias omg I actually sit here all night and name stuff

SOME OF MY OLD ROOMS :D

Coming back to Habbo after a 4 or 5 year break, it just seems its lost its sense of community. Every casino owner knew every other casino owner, and all the dealers knew all the other dealers, you could pop round anyones casino every night and you would chat with the same people, and of all the games I have played, that was the most enjoyable.

I think if I didnt have that image in my head, the new Habbo would be really good. Some of the possibilities with all the furni and room sizes now means you can really try make some different rooms which were quite limited 5 years ago.

The only thing I can think of that Habbo have really messed up is trading/rares/values etc. Literally everything is 1c or less... No fun and nothing to aim for

Meh, I've had my acc. since only jan. 2009 - but I've always been on and off with quitting.

In total, I've quit for about a year - so when I reach 3 year badge, 33% of it... won't even count? XL

Habbo's too addicting tbqh. It's too hard to quit :<

I joined Habbo on 2008. Till 2010 i quit everything. And after a year i joined Habbox. Then i only joined Habbo back again.

If it wasn't for Habbox i wouldn't even join back.

I've been on habbo sicne 2008 on different accounts. I remember when I used to get so excited hearing trax whilst playing FF etc and I used to hum along to them. People would give out decent furniture prizes and I hardly came across scammers. I used to love meeting new friends in public rooms, being a habbo guide and attending info bus sessions. Then when the merge happened I got bored and left for a bit. The only reason I came back was through Habbox. I had a bit of free time and thought I'd apply for DJ, I passed so Habbox brought me back to habbo and I;ve started actively playing again. It's not as fun as it used to be a few years ago but I have made some new friends. I used to spend like all day on habbo though but now I only play for a few hours so if anything is going to make you keep playing habbo, it's a fansite :L Most of the people I knew have left but there is some good people still on habbo. One of the other problems is Habbo's economy. As already mentioned most furni is worth less than 1 credit now. I have such a hard time selling stuff so building rooms etc is no fun anymore.

People change and so does Habbo. People after the flash update and then the merge decided it was too far, there's some people who stayed of course and many have returned! It's hard to stay at one place forever though :P

I think the main thing I liked back in the old days was you built things out of other things. If you wanted a pond you used blue mats not buying real water from the bloody catalogue. Nowadays it's ruined the main creativity out of building rooms. It's like being a habbo caveman stuck in 2011

I haven't used Habbo properly since the summer olympics 2008. Soon after, I got a 30 day ban which is probably what broke the initial addiction. When I returned I gradually didn't see the point in things I was doing but I would say I "officially" left around mid 2010, maybe a bit earlier. I do occasionally go on when I am bored or I go on with someone to annoy some people but that is a rare occurance now. I quit for 2 reasons. First is that things lost their sense of value. Badges became so common it was ridiculous and the credits became even less worth what they cost. Secondly is thatt the people I knew started to leave it, and naturally so did I as the community turned **** so I didn't see the point in trying to get involved in other groups, and that the people I knew I pretty much now have contact with in other things. I wouldn't say I grew out of it as there are many older people playing it so it is just a matter of opinion.

I actually quit for a year after they took Wobble Squabble Out, and I started on September, 26, 2004. I actually have a old old picture of me in 2007 playing Wobble Squabble. I'm the one with Blue hair in line on the left side!

I joined in about 2007 Ive been on loads of different accounts, it felt soo real for me back then, I remember all of the old games and I made some really great friends.

Ive quit and then come back lots of times, and each time I came back all of the people that I knew were gone, it felt a bit wierd, like having no one to talk to. But I guess they did move on, i do miss all the old people and my fake jobs. :)

I don't like that they changed everything, everything these days has become more about money, and a lot of furni and stuff doesn't really have any value, I could care less about rares. I didn't like the big update to habbo or the merge it kind of ruined it all tbh, and I do miss the big hand. I don't like the respects I find them really pointless and I can't believe they got rid of the public rooms!! Ive just come back on in about september 2011 and I saw that the public rooms were gone, I was soo surprised!!

yes, everyone hates the updates, the merge, and what not..I do too. I really honestly miss habbo. as much as we hate it, things have to advance overtime even if they turn out as a big mistake(which it was). I felt like habbo had the most original idea for a game and I loved it. I loved the fact that you can sit an just chat or you can always find something to do. nt to mention, I miss colestudios a lot aswell.

2008 - I joined www.habbo.com (http://www.habbo.com) although I was a Singaporean on August,27th 2008 through an advertisement placed on www.miniclip.com (http://www.miniclip.com), I was 10 years old and I knew Habbo through siblings so I decided to join.
The first account I made was megasofer and I didn't know alot of things but I knew rares so all I did was actually scamming people off rares (weird , wasn't it, I was only 10!) with help from siblings.
I decided Habbo was much better off ClubPenguin so I went onto it. My favourite game of all must be SnowStorm! Seriously, I would've got all the snow off the machine in the middle but yeah, we had a time limit.
I also enjoyed visiting mafias and armies and staying there for like HOURS before I fall asleep. I love the friend console too , it was soo cute that I had it for my birthday cake! (parents didn't care bout' Habbo so yeah)
2009 - It was my first year and I'm addicted to Habbo like HELL! I started getting into the groove of rares , super rares , HC furnis and such. I begged my parents to get me some habbo coins ( got 180 instead. ) and I was real happy!! So I bought parasols , petal patches etc. One illness irl managed to push me off Habbo for 3 days. I was real addicted.
2010 - The merge. I was totally lovin' Habbo.com and went on fansites www.habbcore.com (http://www.habbcore.com) and enjoyed DJing such. When the merge happen , lots of people left. I was real ***** about it quit from Oct after my job at the fansite. Oct 10' to - April 11' which was 4 months.
2011 - I came back , boy Habbo was quite boring with the new furnis and Easter stuff and blah. Where in the world was our US Hotel Manager , Loderse? CrestHawk? Where in the frickin' world was HC furni? I was real pissed but with the help of friends I managed to get back on track of Habbo.

I have been playing since 2008 and have only quit once which was because it got to boring then I came back on after all my mates told me about the horses so I had to get one. Now, all my mates have quit and I decided to quit now but still sticking with Habbox of course.

I don't go on as much as I used to. I guess you just grow out of it. I do still like making rooms, though. :)

I joined in 2006 and quit in around 2008 when I got banned. Ok it was probably a 4 hour ban but I was angry with one of my friends so I guess I must have quit.
Then when I came back in 2011 it had changed so much it was pretty shocking. What was this 'New Habbo'? What was VIP? Where was the big hand? What was wired? What was an achievement score? Who were Puffin and SmoothCriminal? Where on earth was Bamaloo and Fushiku and Habbo Australia?!?! At least Fozzie was still there :P

This. And I enjoyed "scripting" on habbz. The new furniture is way too weird for my liking. I feel like a bloody grandpa talking about computers to a youngee generation!
