Surely you can still do fridge races just with dividers? Unless you don't actually need to be next to the person in which case it's just stupid. If you do need to be next to them to transfer then you can set up relays and stuff, make team games with it

lol i made a new game out of it

Interesting update, I like it.

@J-Raviv, how does the game work? 0_o

Red
27-10-2011, 11:07 AM
you can be anywhere in the room to hand it to them so dividers won't work. :{

Mr-Trainor
27-10-2011, 11:13 AM
Does it work anywhere in the room, even if you're separated? Like if you click 'Give hand item' but then your Habbo can't walk next to them, will it still give them it?

I doubt it. I think you would have to be in direct contact with the other habbo for it work. :P

Yeah most likely. If habbo allowed you to pass things to others without being next to them, then that game would be ruined. Hopefully habbo aren't stupid enough to ever do something like that though.

What possible bonus could this feature have then? I can't think why they'd spend time working on a completely new action without it having SOME use. Seems daft

I think the use will be to dish out sweets on Halloween, I do remember someone posting on the forum about giving sweets out then.

I actually love it, not gonna lie...
s'very useful for RPG players in someway, but it does effect quite a few events like Mocha / Fridge races etc,
But, I do still love this update :)

AHH I spent so much on wired to give out hand items when you asked for them just a few days ago.. oh well lol. It's a fun feature for Halloween and RPG. Hopefully they can add a disable feature button so it doesn't ruin games.

Yea, Once i seen that you could give items such as carrots and drinks, straight away i thought of bars and clubs which is a brilliant idea!

I hate it. I don't rpg so i'm no seeing any gd sides to it. It's just ruined a lot of games and its also rly irritating standing in a room and everyone firing diff drinks at you.

Martin
27-10-2011, 12:57 PM
LOL omg. Thats quite good for bars and stuff I guess but for fridge races thats just messed it up haha. Is there not an option to prevent people giving them to you, or a thing you have to click to receive them first? because what If I don't like a certain drink and it is forced upon me :(

Jurv
27-10-2011, 01:11 PM
I'm not too sure whether I like the idea or not. Hopefully there will be some way of disabling it in the near future to stop it ruining events such as Fridge Races and Mocha Races. However, I do reckon there will be quite a few new games that are created due to this update, we'll have to wait and see. :)

Interesting update, I like it.

@J-Raviv, how does the game work? 0_oI give someone a carrot, and they have 30 seconds to pass it around. Whoever has the carrot last loses. It's like hot potato I guess lol. They can't pass back to the person who gave them the carrot, and they can't hold it for more than 5 seconds.

I've been hosting it for the past 3 hours on Habbo lol :(

Jordan

Yeah, I think it was from Normans meeting - you'd be able to give other Habbos sweets :3

I still hate this feature, if it does work even with dividers - Mocha races and fridge races are ruined, people are going to be annoyed if they're having random drinks/items in their hand and tbh. Sulake could have done something much better.

This is just as useless as the furniture flying into your hand -_-.

The only benefit I can see would be for Bars/Clubs/Restaurants.

Kyle
27-10-2011, 01:36 PM
to clarify-------DIVIDERS DONT STOP IT FROM WORKING------------

i like it, finally all the rubbish games cant be played

Mr-Trainor
27-10-2011, 01:37 PM
Just tried this, and even with barriers between you; you can still pass handitems.

Edit
Kyle beat me to it :P.

Edit
And if someone already has a handitem, you can give them something else instead.

I think this is a really good update even though fridge races and mocha races are screwed. And it's pretty good for Clubs and Bars too. But i think there should be an option to disable it or something. :)

Omg, that'd be an awesome game...

Now, all we need is for Habbo to actually develop a potato.

I did see a new game called pass the carrot where you would pass it around and when the banzai timer stops your out. Im guessing from what i saw

Hopeless

Annoying that it has ruined a lot of classic games. Meh.

Really? I was under the impression that that was the only prerequisite for any and all updates: that the update provides a new function which wasn't asked for, nor needed in any way and actually goes out of it's way to hinder gameplay severely.

Hmm. An update which ruins a years-old habbo game... which wasn't asked for or needed... where have I heard that before...? Oh that's right:

http://www.habboxforum.com/showthread.php?t=630386&p=6327245#post6327245

I should mention that this also messes up the limited refills aspect of games like Steal the Ice-cream. Essentially if you have someone sitting in the guard area they could just pass you drink items constantly so you never run out.

But I guess it's worth it because who cares about user-created games right? The realism aspect of habbo-based bar and restaurant drink service is something which has kept me awake at night for years. I'm so glad that they've finally addressed this pressing issue. Even if it did mean ruining more popular games which have been around for years.

Although some good old games have gone, some really good games have been made such as telephrase, wired mazes etc.

This perk to me has made sticm such a waste of time plus icecream lasts forever and totally ruins the game.

I hate this, its stupid and i don't see the point in it if i'm honest. I know people could give their 'e-boyfriends and e-girlfriends' and drink, but .... meh, not for me

I think it's actually quite a good feature. Pretty much since the game came out I've always thought restaurants in the game were half-hearted because if you're running the show you cannot actually distribute food items to other users. I think the main reason behind Sulake implementing this feature was to improve the role playing experience in such rooms.

I agree with you totally. Its a great feature to have in restaurants and places the require to pass food/drinks on to other users. However i do find it quite annoying when people just keep handing it to you, and as said before, ruins the game 'fridge races'

It's a shame Sulake did not implement a design where room owners can toggle the feature on or off. Perhaps they will in the future.
